The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement (w/Sharon Horwatt) Nov 09, 2023

Show notes

Back to the usual grind this week now that spooky season has come to a close as the guys discuss The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement. They're not alone though as they're joined by returning guest Sharon Horwatt, who knows an awful lot about this Disney franchise (is 2 movies enough for a franchise?)! Could John Rhys-Davies be playing a more cartoonish villain? What the hell is going on with Chris Pine's hair? Why couldn't Julie Andrews rap during the mattress-surfing party?! And could there be a more jarring needle drop than that Kelly Clarkson song? All this and a horny Hector Elizondo this week on the show!

Next week: run!

Why do the characters keep pronouncing Gamera wrong? Is the dubbing kinda racist? How come there are no kaiju for the first 40 minutes and why did that really not bother Brendan at all? All this and more!

It's the spookiest time of the year - Schlocktober! The guys dive back into the first non-scam artists Conjuring-verse flick Annabelle and the road starts off... just a little bumpy. They talk about the weird cult subplot that should have been the main plot, the doll not being pleasant to look at for anyone to genuinely want in their house, Alfre Woodard breathing life into the film in the ninth inning and much more.

Next week: Schlocktober continues with a rather notorious found-footage movie.

Exit to Eden (w/Galen Howard) Sep 28, 2023

Show notes

This week, Galen Howard joins the guys for a discussion of quite possibly the least sexy movie marketed as a sexy movie. Yes, that's right - the "sexually brilliant"Exit to Eden "starring" Dan Aykroyd and Rosie O'Donnell. The guys talk about the addition of a diamond smuggling plot not present in the source material, Rosie's dialogue seemingly consisting entirely of improv, Sex Yoda, the disturbing nanny fetish cold open and much more. Plus: Garry Marshall visits the show to explain himself.

Vicious Lips Sep 21, 2023

Show notes

This week, the guys are bestowed with a Patreon Pick from Everything I Learned from Movies in the form of Albert Pyun's Vicious Lips, a movie that seemingly has no purpose for its existence whatsoever. The discussion ranges all over the place including the lamest mass murderer of all-time, landing a huge music gig halfway through an audition, filming in Cher's bedroom, the infuriating twist that makes the movie even more pointless and much more.

Next week: VERY SEXY.

Show notes

This week, the guys are joined by Jason MacLeod to talk about Copperhead, a movie that Brendan got to be an extra in about 10 years ago! They talk all about the "fine people on both sides" style of writing, all the war sequences that we only hear about, Angus Macfayden's wild performance and much more. Plus: lots of stories from the set including the original lead actor that was fired, meeting a very "quirky" actor and finding your lens.

Next week: time to hand out some awards!
