The Flash (w/Joshua Kotsabasakis) Jan 18, 2024

Show notes

The Worst of 2023 continues with a discussion of the polarizing film The Flash starring real-life criminal Ezra Miller. Resident comic book expert Josh Kotsabasakis joins the guys to discuss the film and attempt to avoid as many real-life Ezra references as possible. Why does this movie have so much spaghetti? Are the CGI babies the worst? And what about the rest of the CGI? Does this movie not even have a real villain? What the hell does "re-alive" mean? How was Michael Keaton as Batman? All this and more in (ironically) one of the longer episodes in a while.

Next week: a fairly serious film...

How much preparation work was require for Valek's magazine stand scare? How should this movie connect to the Sister Act-iverse? Just how convoluted IS this universe? What is going on with Taissa Farmiga's hair... and why is it perfect? All this and the 2nd scariest nun to have ever lived in this week's episode!

Next week: it'll be super!

Rerun: Home Sweet Home Alone Dec 28, 2023

Show notes

Enjoy this rerun while we are away on vacation!

Tis the season! The guys present their Christmas episode with regular recurring Christmas guest Mariah Lirette as they discuss the Disney Plus Exclusive Home Sweet Home Alone. Does this movie really think that making the 'burglars' into a likeable cute family was the appropriate update for this film? Why does the movie keep forgetting that Jeff is a computer genius when he can't figure out simple mechanics? Why does this movie waste nothing roles on so many talented comedians? And could that Devin Ratray cameo be even MORE embarrassing?

We will return with full episodes on Thursday, January 11th.

Pottersville Dec 07, 2023

Show notes

This week's movie is truly baffling as the guys look at the Christmas (adjacent) film Pottersville, which is somehow not about the fantasy town from It's a Wonderful Life. Nope, it's about a sasquatch... and the furry community? Nathan and Brendan of course discuss all the furries content (especially the Kubrickian dance party in the woods), a detail about Thomas Lennon's character that left a bad taste in Brendan's mouth, the references (with no jokes) to Jaws and that Christian Bale rant and much more. This is a bizarre one, folks.

Plus: Nathan makes a promise to all the Patrons.

Next week: our last full episode of the year!

A Little Piece of Heaven (w/Galen Howard) Nov 30, 2023

Show notes

This week, the guys are joined by Galen Howard to wrap their heads around Kirk Cameron's brain and the film A Little Piece of Heaven, a joyful uplifting Christian movie in which children are kidnapped and convinced that they've died and gone to Heaven so they will hang out with Kirk's lonely developmentally delayed sister.

Yup.

With this being the wildest premise maybe ever featured on the show, there is no shortage of topics here but the guys also discuss all of the surprisingly racist material, sex, drugs & violence, Agent Mr. Jack Daniels, Cloris Leachman telling kids to beat each other up and much more. Yes, a LOT MORE.

Next week: Bigfoot!

Blown Away Nov 23, 2023

Show notes

This week, the guys talk about a movie that has maybe the most amount of movie a movie ever movied. That's right, it's 1994's Blown Away starring Jeff Bridges and Tommy "Ireland's Finest" Lee Jones. Why is everyone doing the most insane accent? Are bomb squads sexy? How many rube goldberg terrorist bombs can one man build in the span of a couple of days? Are they using U2 songs as the theme for the villain?! All this and a blarney stone to kiss in this week's episode!

Next week: a very creepy "Christmas movie"...

Fled Nov 16, 2023

Show notes

Ready for the ultimate buddy movie team-up? Well, look no further than Laurence Fishburne and... Stephen Baldwin? Yes folks, let's Fled. Does this movie have the most convoluted inciting incident ever? How many save-the-cat moments can Dodge have in order to make sure people like him? Racist heart attacks? Is Salma Hayek doing a Duck Soup remake? All this and a lot of bad grammar in this week's episode!
