I love a good head start! I always like getting projects done on my weekends so I set myself up for a better and smoother week ahead. There is something so motivating to me about the weekends and the calm and peaceful energy they have. The weekends are when I am most motivated to show up and get things done! When I do this, I reap the rewards during that following week. It's always such a great and satisfying reward!
The end of 2019 is approaching and I'm using these last 91 days as my time to prepare for 2020. I'm looking at 2019 as my "weekend" to prepare for that big "week" (aka 2020) ahead! I don't want the pressure of January 1 to roll around. I want to start 2020 running full speed ahead! Why wait for January 1st? You can be the person who is already going when others are just starting to plan in January.
2019 has been a big year in self-development for me, both for myself and my business. I have invested a lot into my education through online digital courses. I have bought things that teach me "how to grow my email list" or "how to use Pinterest to grow your business" and even "how to be a great spiritual teacher." I really value learning and growing. But one thing I kept finding myself doing was I would invest in the course but never finish all of them or implement what I was actually learning. It was SO frustrating!! Here I was, with ALL the resources at my finger tips, but I wasn't fully implementing everything. Why? Why was I holding myself back?
This lead to my most recent "what the eff" am I doing moment? Recently, something inside me snapped for the better! A huge light switch has been turned out. NO MORE holding myself back. It's time I FULLY show up! And what better time than NOW!
In today's episode I share with you why we sometimes hold ourselves back and 5 simple steps that have MASSIVE returns if you follow them and stick to it! 90 days is plenty of time to see MASSIVE GROWTH and PROGRESS for both yourself and your goals!
Listen in to find out what steps to take to finish this year out SO STRONG! You've got this my friend!
5 Steps to finish 2019 strong and get your head start to 2020:
Let’s start off today with my “What the Eff” moment of the day, followed by a trip down memory lane to my small New York City apartment over four years ago.
My significant other at the time grew up with negative beliefs about money, and I was letting these beliefs percolate and grow in my mind. Even though I didn’t grow up with these types of ideas, I was giving his beliefs the ability to affect how I thought.
Looking back, I realized that I was being a victim of my thoughts and negative beliefs about money.
I graduated from FIT, worked at Tommy Hilfiger, then wanted to start my own line of clothing, called COVE, and successfully created a Kickstarter to raise $10,000 to get COVE off the ground. I quickly learned how to be a new business owner, and through this journey, I came across my mentor Tony Robbins and watched many of his videos.
Around this time, I moved to Baltimore, Maryland. My brother had recently moved there, and I wanted to live in an area which wasn’t so costly. I would come over to my brother’s home and take his two dogs walking, listening to Tony on my walks. One morning while listening to Tony Robbins, he inspired me with his words. Tony said, “For a business to be successful, it is 80% the business owner’s psychology and only 20% the mechanics.”
This pivotal point for me changed my thought process from being a victim of my process to now waking up early every day and actively choosing my thoughts. Now I could prime my mind and create my positive belief system. Priming is a workout for your mind! Over the next few days, I created a morning routine which focused and primed my mind towards positive, healthy thinking.
Then, my divorce happened. I was left without an income and decided I was going to make COVE work. I used my priming every day at my business, even though I didn’t know what was going to happen in my near future.
Listen in to find out how I had a miracle happen, then became so focused on my outcome that I didn’t focus on, and lost my message. Now, I’m coming back to my message by using priming every day throughout my day to stay attuned to thoughts which will move me forward.
Here are the 3 Simple Steps that will help you start Priming your mind today and reconnecting with your greater goals:
1.) Wake up early to Prime your mind: Say "thank you, thank you, thank you" as you wake up each morning, List 5 things in your life that ARE working for you and give gratitude for each of them, Do 1 thing to raise your vibration such as listening to music, podcasts, read a good book, have a cup of coffee, go for a walk, etc.
2.) Prime ALL day. Priming doesn't stop in the morning. Stand guard of your mind and choose good thoughts ALL day.
3.) Write a love letter to your ideal client and tell them why you love serving them. Read it daily to yourself for the next 90 days and watch it transform your business.
Mantras to Prime Your Mind:
"Everything is working for me!"
"That was easy!"
"This is a world of well being and life is happening for me."
"I can do anything."
"I am love"
"I am worthy"
"I am worthy of all good things!"
"The people in my life support me."
"Whatever I ask for I get"
"Ask and it is given"

That’s right, my boyfriend and I got engaged on August 24th, right here in D.C.!
I want to share all the details about our engagement with you, AND my new fiancee. L.J. Bowling is right here to tell the story with me. Let’s get to it and give you some background on L.J Bowling.
L.J. is an engineer who lives here in the D.C. area, he also works with me, and he loves our new dog, Jet. Our dog loves the new house, immediately claimed himself as king of the house and he is currently lounging around the house.
I get asked all the time how we met, so here’s the story. L.J. and I met on a dating app, Hinge, in 2018, although I’m not allowed to call him a “Hinge Husband.” I’m a big fan of Hinge, the design, and user-friendly experience. Hinge introduces you to friends of friends. L.J. and I were living in two different cities at the time, and I wasn’t expecting to find my husband at the time. L.J. then took me on our first date, we went to the Spy Museum, dinner and walked the monuments. All these were on my bucket list, which is why he took me to them.
Which, by the way, is where he proposed to me - at the monuments where we had our first date! L.J. planned to ask me there, isn’t he sweet?
L.J. opened up a Delta credit card just for our long-distance dating! We chat about our experiences together, AND L.J. spills the beans on something you don’t know about me that will surprise you! He also gives advice to other guys about decorating when you move in with your SO.
L.J. did a bait and switch when he told me we were going to celebrate my new site launch and him getting back from work. I was really, genuinely surprised, UNTIL I got to the St.Regis Hotel. At around 5pm, L.J. decided to take me down to the monument but didn’t want to ask me in front of other people. We walked around a bit, and there were big crowds everywhere, and he almost called it and didn’t ask me to marry him. As we were walking back, L.J. found a path which led to an area next to a pond which was secluded and private, then he proposed!
From the girl’s perspective, here’s what went down. I felt something in his back pocket when I accidentally touched him, not thinking he had a ring in his pocket. Besides, he was wearing the worst shorts to hide a ring! We were walking around the Lincoln Memorial, sat down on a bench, then found the spot where he led me to ask me to marry him. As we were walking, he pulled me close to him, and he started giving me the ‘big speech.’ I forgot most of it, but I do remember him telling me, “This year has been the best part of his life.”.
The remainder of the weekend was beautiful, and we were able to spend time together, FaceTimed our parents the news, and the hotel celebrated our engagement with us!

Have you ever thought to yourself, “When I get X, then I’ll feel happy.”
When I graduate, then I’ll feel happy.
When I lose 10 pounds, then I’ll feel happy.
When I fall in love, then I’ll feel happy.
I think that’s something we’ve been taught, that we have to have something happen and THEN we’re allowed to feel the emotion. But can we be real for a second? If we don’t feel really good on the way there, then we can’t get there. We have to feel good along the way - it’s essential. We have to be at the same vibrational match as what we desire.
This means you can actually give yourself permission to start feeling good right now. Yes, at this very moment!
There’s this quote from Abraham Hicks that I love:
“You have to be satisfied with what is while you’re reaching for more.”
If we don’t fix the insides of us, no outside work can compensate for it. If your internal beliefs don’t align with your goals, you simply won’t get there.
There are only two states you’re ever really living in: a state of allowing or a state of resistance. When you feel good and appreciate things, then you’re in a state of allowing. And when you’re in a state of allowing, anything can happen.
A question I want you to get in the habit of asking yourself daily is:
Am I in a state of allowance or am I in a state of resistance?
If you’re feeling out of alignment, you can recognize it by asking this question. If you’re looking for something bigger, start changing the narrative if it’s negative.
How can we live in a constant state of allowing?
There are three ways we can condition ourselves to live in a state of allowing regularly.
