The VA Rating Official, more commonly known as the RVSR, will eventually make a subjective rating assessment by comparing all your medical evidence and supporting statements along with the C&P examiner's notes on the electronic version of the PTSD DBQ, which will be either the Initial PTSD DBQ (internal VA use only) or the PTSD Review DBQ. According to CFR 38 PTSD the VA Schedule of Ratings, your VA PTSD claim can be rated from 0% to 100%, with interim breaks at 10%, 30%, 50%, and 70%. If you already have a VA PTSD claim that’s been decided, and you’ve got a VA rating for PTSD at 0%, 10%, 30%, 50%, or even 70%, but you think you deserve a higher VA rating, all you need for the increase is a disability examination and Medical Nexus Letter for PTSD completed by a private medical provider.

What the VA is looking for when determining your VA Rating for Radiculopathy is the Frequency, Severity, and the Duration of your symptoms over time. Complete Paralysis, as described above, means that all movement is lost, or it is severely affected. Incomplete Paralysis means that range of motion is not entirely lost, but affected. The ratings for Radiculopathy are 20%, 40%, 50%, and 70%. You must have a Diagnosis or Subjective Complaints of Radiculopathy to be granted Service Connection. The three things the VA requires for Service Connection is: 1) Medical Diagnosis 2) Service Connection by way of a Nexus Letter 3) Severity of Symptoms (Mild, Moderate, Severe)

Somatic Symptom Disorder (SSD), previously called Chronic Pain Syndrome, means a veteran is having a considerable focus on his/her physical symptoms, such as pain, weakness, limitations, and shortness of breath. This is also known as a Lifestyle Impact Claim. This is typically tied to the daily chronic pain and life/health limitations related to a disabled veteran's current service-connected disabilities rated at 0 percent or higher. It is sometimes referred to as a "Lifestyle Impact Claim," although no such claim exists in CFR 38, Part 4, Schedule for Rating Disabilities. The disabled Veteran typically has excessive thoughts, feelings, and behaviors relating to these physical symptoms, which causes significant occupational and social impairment in the Veteran's work, life, and/or social functioning.
