3 Ways to Use Hydrosols as a Remedy for Pets Aug 01, 2024

Show notes

It makes me cringe to see people using essential oils on their dogs and cats without trying hydrosols first.
As a Certified Clinical Aromatherapist, I know when it's best to use essential oils, and when it makes more sense to use hydrosols.
I'll explain what hydrosols are in a minute, but they're a remedy, unlike essential oils, that are safe for dogs, cats and other small pets.
I'll also be sharing:

How Hydrosols differ from essential oils
When to use Hydrosols instead of essential oils, and
3 ways you can use Hydrosols as a remedy for your pets

...annnnnnd I'll address two additives often found in hydrosols: one that is safe for your pets and one that is not safe.
So let's get started!

5 Essential Oils NOT Safe for Dogs (or humans) Jul 11, 2024

Show notes

One of my pet peeves is when companies try to sell you essential oils that aren't safe like Basil, Fennel, and Nutmeg.
The steam distillation process, the most common method of turning plants into essential oils, can cause safe and even beneficial herbs to be harmful once they've gone through the distillation process and made into essential oils - and I'll let you know how to tell the difference between essential oils that have the same name
You'll want to go through your essential oils AND blends and see which ones to toss so you aren't exposing yourself or your pets to these carcinogenic, neurotoxic, and otherwise unsafe essential oils. Ready?

Show notes

A lot of people struggle when it comes to using essential oils with their pets. And it's no surprise when you look at all of the unsafe information out there. I've seen recommendations for dropping essential oils into your pet's food, rubbing them into your dog's fur without diluting, and brushing your puppy's teeth with them. It makes me cringe. None of us want to see our puppy suffering from adverse reactions that could be avoided - if we weren't misinformed.
As a Certified Clinical Aromatherapist, I know the benefits of essential oils as well as the safety. And in this episode, I'm sharing the fool-proof way to select the best essential oils for your dog in four easy steps. And I promise you don't need to know any chemistry to do this.
And I'll tell you what to do in case your dog accidentally licks, and therefore eats, the essential oil remedy.
Not following this process can leave your dog still suffering with the same issue, or worse, having new reactions due to essential oil misuse. So let's make sure that doesn't happen to you.
