92: Black Science #18; Nailbiter #18; Paper Girls #3; Revival #35; They're Not Like Us #10 Dec 04, 2015

Show notes

In a rare display of endurance and pure joy, Under the Comic Covers tackles five issues in one episode for the first time, which we are calling "The UtCC Pentacular!" Fortunately, each of these five issues were amazing beyond either of our wildest hopes. Taking each issues in alphabetical order (because really, how can you possibly sort these books in any kind of order): Black Science #18; Nailbiter #18; Paper Girls #3; Revival #35; They're Not Like Us #10.

Due to the very long run time of this podcast, we want to remind you all that we separate each book and it's individual letter section by chapters. If you are on an Apple device, just skip ahead to whichever chapter you are interested in... otherwise, we list the times for each chapter below. Thank you, and we really hope you enjoy this episode... we had a great time putting it together for you.

87: Wayward Interview: Jim Zub, Steven Cummings, Tamra Bonvillain Nov 03, 2015

Show notes

Under the Comic Covers is exceptionally happy to share our first interview with the almost complete creative team (sans letterer and essayist) behind one of our favorite books, Wayward. We are joined by writer Jim Zub, artist Steve Cummings, and colorist Tamra Bonvillain as we discuss their process, the various inspirations behind the art and the story, as well as hints as to what's to come in the upcoming arc beginning November 18th.

Take a look at an upcoming panel of Steven Cumming's pencils... http://jimzub.tumblr.com/post/131961653560/a-special-sneak-peek-at-line-art-from-wayward-13 ... not his inks, his pencils... and listen to the interview to understand why this is so spectacular.

85: Tops of the Stack Revisited Oct 23, 2015

Show notes

In this week's very special episode of Under the Comic Covers (I'm going for an ABC After-School Special vibe here), we revisit some of our previous Top of the Stack titles and discuss a few of our favorites and the fates of some of the others. It was a pleasure to go over some of the amazing books we have talked about over the course of the last year, and it all devolves into a giant love fest of appreciation for our listeners towards the end.

This episode is also front loaded with some wonderful developments from the Podcastica Network, and some upcoming news for the next two weeks regarding an interview and a very exciting lineup for next week.
