Kevin Stefanski's Perspective on Deshaun Watson, Winston, Chubb, & Play Calling at NFL Meeting Mar 26, 2024

Show notes

Get all the latest updates on the Cleveland Browns from head coach Kevin Stefanski himself! In this episode of The Ultimate Cleveland Sports Show, host Garrett Bush breaks down the comments from the NFL Annual Meeting. Stefanski discussed the team's quarterback situation, Nick Chubb's role, and his approach to play calling. Don't miss out on all the inside scoop from the NFL Annual Meeting! Head coach Kevin Stefanski met with reporters Monday inside the Arizona Biltmore for the first time since free agency began, offering some insight on what's next for the Browns after their busy start to the new league year. Here are the key takeaways from Stefanski's conversation: According to Zach Jackson of the athletic +Kevin Stefanski talked this morning at the owners meetings: Watson is in a “good place,” Chubb is in the building rehabbing every day, no word on Brazil and he still won’t say who’s calling plays. On another note Deshaun Watson is working his way back from shoulder surgery and recently started to throw the ball again. His first session was held in Los Angeles and a prominent member of the Cleveland Browns made the trip to help Watson get back on track. Fresh off his best season as a pro, David Njoku was there with the Cleveland quarterback, and reports indicate that things went well. Watson is progressing well and there's no reason for concern as the 2024 campaign inches closer. After the two worked out together, they appeared on the Lockerverse podcast together and Njoku quickly discussed the toughness Watson has shown thus far with the Browns. Njoku took exception to those who thought Watson was soft, saying he played through a fractured shoulder and a high ankle sprain yet "still beat the juggernaut Ravens." Njoku said the high ankle sprain is bad enough to play through but that was in addition to a broken bone in the shoulder. Despite both injuries, Watson was 14-of-14 for 134 yards with a touchdown in the comeback win over the Ravens. He then had to go to the IR due to the shoulder injury and the Browns turned to Dorian Thompson-Robinson and Joe Flacco. Browns were rolling with Deshaun Watson in 2023 Lost in all the discussion surrounding Joe Flacco is just how well the Browns were playing with Watson. Flacco led the franchise to a 4-1 stretch and clinched a playoff berth. He's been praised for this and some fans called for him to take over in 2024. However, his record is identical to what Cleveland had with Watson. Overall, they were 5-1 with him under center but Watson hardly played in one of the wins. That means they were 4-1 in games he started and finished, including the win over the eventual No. 1 seed. Despite their success, Watson is viewed as someone who is holding the team back. Count Njoku among those who think this is a foolish take. He expects Watson to bounce back and prove the doubters wrong. #ucss #nfl #browns #football #deshaunwatson #brownsnews #nflnews #cleveland #clevelandbrowns

Myles Straw was waived and the Cleveland Guardians opening day roster is set (we think)! Mar 26, 2024

Adam the Bull and Zack Meisel discuss that and more in the debut episode of the Ultimate Cleveland Guardians Show!

Tom Hamilton on the Cleveland Guardians 2024 chances, Stephen Vogt & sports gambling Mar 25, 2024

Show notes

The Cleveland Cavaliers need to start playing better or it'll be another short outing in the playoffs. The Miami Heat destroyed Cleveland last night in Evan Mobley's return to action, leaving many to ask: What's next & how can we save this? The Cleveland Guardians opening day roster is finalized and Myles Straw did not make the cut. Did Stephen Vogt & company make the right call on its final roster cutdowns or did someone make the squad who shouldn't have? The Cleveland Browns are one month and one day away from being on the clock, so it's time to start "Mock Draft SZN" on the show. Who will be available for the Browns are pick 54 and how should the team approach its upcoming picks? The Browns re-signed Cade York to a futures reserve deal in hopes he can learn a thing or two from Dustin Hopkins. Are you a fan of bringing back the much maligned York as a backup leg to Hopkins? Are we forgetting just how impressive Deshaun Watson's performance against Baltimore in the second half was? David Njoku went on DW4's podcast to give some context to the injuries Watson was playing through, which makes what he did even that much more impressive.
