    Josh Bogorad, the play by play voice of the Dallas Stars joins Scott to discuss his career path in sports broadcasting. Josh talks about what it was like to be on the call for the Stars, as they eliminated Vegas in game 5 overtime, to advance to their first Stanley Cup appearance in 20 years.

    Thomas Drance wakes up early from the Edmonton bubble, to get us set for game 6 of the Eastern Final between Tampa and the Islanders. Will Nikita Kucherov and Brayden Point be healthy enough to play? Can the Islanders pull out another upset? Thomas has the answers!

    Plus, Thomas and Scott discuss the Staal for Johansson trade, the Edmundson signing and how their is more to come from Minnesota and Montreal, as they re-tool their rosters this fall.

    Geoff Ward - Calgary Flames Head Coach Sep 16, 2020
    Show notes

    Geoff Ward, who took over last fall for Bill Peters as the interim head coach for the Flames, saw the interim tag removed this week by the Calgary Flames. Geoff joins Scott and Pierre to discuss his journey from the University of Waterloo, to being a head coach in the NHL.

    Scott and Pierre also discuss Peter Laviolette joining the Capitals as their new head coach and what the future may be for veteran coaches Mike Babcock and Gerard Gallant.

    The guys also talk about the huge game five, double OT win by the Islanders to force game 6 vs Tampa Bay.

    Pierre and Scott also take a look at some of the interesting off-season moves by Billy Guerin in Minnesota, including acquiring Nick Bjugstad, signing Jonas Brodin and rumours swirling that Matt Dumba will be moved this fall as well.

    Finally, the guys address the Coyotes General Manager position which could be filled as early as today by St. Louis scout Bill Armstrong, and the ongoing financial limitations for the Coyotes.

    And Then There Were Four: Conference Finals Underway in Edmonton Sep 07, 2020

    Arpon Basu of the Athletic Montreal is covering the Eastern Conference Final in Edmonton for the Athletic, and joins Scott from the bubble to talk about what it is like to be back in a rink to cover an NHL game.

    Arpon and Scott preview game one of the Eastern Conference Final with the powerhouse Tampa Bay Lightning taking on the underdogs from Long Island, the playoff magic of Jean Gabriel Pageau and the absence of Steven Stamkos from the playoffs.

    We head West for a very early morning chat with Vegas Golden Knights studio analyst on TV Mike McKenna. Vegas outlasted Vancouver in game seven to advance to the Western Final vs Dallas. Pete Deboer handed Marc-Andre Fleury the start in game one, but the Knights offence was suffocated by a Dallas team that trapped the high powered Vegas team in game one to take an early lead in the series.

    The guys also talk about how vital goaltending depth has become during this compressed pandemic schedule, as teams for the most part have used both goalies on their roster during the 2020 Stanley Cup Playoffs.

    Seventh Heaven in the NHL This Weekend Sep 04, 2020

    Charlie O'Connor from the Athletic Philadelphia joins Scott to talk about the Flyers improbable overtime win in game 6, their third OT win of this series, to force a game 7, Saturday night vs the NY Islanders. The guys discuss the inspirational return of Oskar Lindblom after his successful battle with cancer, and how the Flyers were able to overcome the absence of Sean Couturier and countless goal challenge calls in game 6.

    We head West for an early morning chat with Jesse Granger from the Athletic LV to talk about the shocking outcome of game 6 between the Vegas Golden Knights and the Vancouver Canucks. The Knights, a favorite to win the Stanley Cup, have surrendered a three games to one lead over the upstart Vancouver Canucks, and now Vegas has an old fashioned goalie controversy to deal with as well.
