Why Nobody Acted Stopped D4vd Or The Siders BEFORE TRAGEDY! Jul 29, 2026
    Show notes

Start with the paperwork instead of the crime scenes. In 2008 an Ohio judge approved a marriage for a girl who was fifteen and seven months pregnant. In 2024 California deputies documented that they had told David Burke how old Celeste Rivas Hernandez really was. Two records, two dead ends.

One full conversation covering both the d4vd case in Los Angeles and the Siders 16 kids case in Vinton County, Ohio.

The evidence segment walks through what a preliminary hearing has put in front of a judge. An LAPD criminalist testified that presumptive testing produced strong reactions on the rubber mats covering a Hollywood Hills garage floor and on the bricks under them. There were positives on a rowing machine, a green tarp, a charging cord and a trash bag containing wipes. A blue inflatable pool with nothing visible on it glowed in one area, and a second criminalist matched plastic fragments from the autopsy into the cuts in that pool. Blair Berk's entire cross has been about what nobody tested.

The second segment goes back to who David Burke was. Homeschooled after seventh grade, raised on gospel music until thirteen, signed to a major label at seventeen, and the author of an alter ego named Itami who commits murders in his own videos.

The third brings in retired FBI special agent Robin Dreeke for Ohio. Sixteen children removed from a home in Hamden. A room measuring roughly twelve feet by twelve, according to the sheriff. An attorney general who said waiting longer would very likely have meant a death or multiple deaths. Four adults charged with sixteen counts of endangering children each, all pleading not guilty.

Two files, two states, and the same missing piece in both of them.

Burke has pleaded not guilty and denies all wrongdoing through his attorneys. Celeste Rivas Hernandez was fourteen years old.

Nolan Wells' 911 Call Has A Moment Nobody Can Agree On Jul 28, 2026
    Show notes

The Nolan Wells 911 call has divided everyone who has listened to it — not over what the caller says, but over what may or may not be audible behind him. Tony plays the complete recording and takes the dispute head on.

The facts of the call are settled. Released by the Mississippi Department of Marine Resources, it captures a teen reporting a failed bilge pump at the west tip of Horn Island around 4 p.m. on July 4th, asking for a tow, and coordinating with the owner of a second boat to pull the plug while underway. A dispatcher runs the standard checks. Everyone aboard is confirmed accounted for — seven people. GPS shows the boat leaving the island at 4:31.

The dispute lives in the background. In the commotion recorded under the hold music, some listeners report a muffled voice — they believe a female one — asking a question that would mean this call captured far more than a boat emergency. Other listeners, working from the same file, report nothing of the kind. No enhancement has produced a version both sides accept. The disagreement has turned a routine tow request into the most replayed piece of audio in the case.

The stakes come from the timeline around it. Nolan Wells was last reported seen on the island roughly an hour before the call. He was found dead two days later, in the water near where his group last saw him. His family's independent autopsy came back undetermined. The state's report is sealed until a grand jury takes the case.

Tony walks through the entire recording — the clear audio, the contested seconds, and the honest limits of what any of it proves.

Siders 16 Kids: What One More Day Would Have Cost Jul 28, 2026
    Show notes

A search warrant tied to an unrelated matter brought deputies to a house on Ohmer Street in Hamden, Ohio. They came out with sixteen children, ages eighteen months to eighteen years, and arrested four adults: the grandfather, the grandmother, the father and the mother. Each was charged with sixteen counts of endangering children, and all four have pleaded not guilty.

The next day, Ohio's attorney general put a timeline on it in public. Based on what he had seen, he said, waiting a specific amount of time longer carried a very high probability of a death or multiple deaths of those children.

Retired FBI special agent Robin Dreeke joins Tony to work through what kind of thinking produces a house like that. Dreeke ran the Bureau's Counterintelligence Behavioral Analysis Program, and his entire career has been about understanding motivation rather than reciting it.

The sheriff said the children were kept for most of four years in a room about twelve feet by twelve feet, and that most of the livestock in his county was kept in better conditions. The attorney general called the conditions almost indescribable.

The defense frame is completely different. Elizabeth Siders' attorney says this is poverty and isolation rather than evil, and that evil requires malice. He also says his client is the mother of all sixteen children. She was fifteen in 2008 when a judge signed off on her marriage to an eighteen-year-old.

Court records show more than one teenage marriage in this family across two generations. The school district has no record that any of the sixteen were ever enrolled. Investigators say the family avoided building medical and government records for nearly two decades.

1: Lindsay Clancy Fractured Her Neck And They Shrugged Jul 28, 2026
    Show notes

At her arraignment in 2023, the Commonwealth suggested Lindsay Clancy lowered herself out of a window and dropped down. At trial, the prosecution softened it — but left one word behind. Superficial. Kevin Reddington’s defense opening answered that word with photographs and a medical record.

The prosecution needs the jury to believe she fabricated three things: her illness, her suicide attempt, and her hallucinations. This episode wraps four clips from Reddington’s opening at Plymouth Superior Court and follows the defense’s rebuttal through each charge.

Patrick Clancy took the stand as the prosecution’s first witness and testified that his wife disclosed intrusive thoughts about the children and thoughts of suicide months before they died. He testified he pushed for in-person appointments because the telehealth visits were brief and thin. That contradicts the Commonwealth’s opening-statement claim that she withheld.

Reddington read the prescription chart to the jury — thirteen medications, multiple providers, no diagnosis until after the children died. He described a Jefferson fracture of the C1 vertebra, a shattered thoracic spine, and every rib broken. He named a hospital staffer who heard about command voices before any lawyer arrived. And he told the jury she signed a DNR and refused resuscitation — the fact that makes fabricating any of the rest structurally impossible.

Why Nobody At D4vd's Label Ever Asked Her Age Jul 28, 2026
    Show notes

A label. A management team. Two sheriff's departments. Every one of them had a piece of the picture, and prosecutors say the relationship at the center of it began when Celeste Rivas Hernandez was young enough that the number alone ends most conversations.

Long before the d4vd preliminary hearing, David Burke sat down for an interview and explained a character he had invented. He said he was writing a manga about a detective. The detective had an evil version of himself who showed up at random moments. That version committed murders. The detective then had to solve them.

He named the character Itami, which means pain in Japanese. He called him an agent of chaos and compared him to Tyler Durden in Fight Club.

Then he put him in the work. A bloody knife in one video. An animated sequence in another. A video before his debut album in which Burke drags a body and loads it into the trunk of a car.

Tony and Robin use that as the doorway into a bigger question: who was this young man before any of it? Homeschooled after seventh grade. Gospel music only until thirteen. A social life built entirely inside gaming lobbies. Signed to a major label at seventeen with a valuation in the millions and no anchor anywhere near him.

They also give the other argument its full weight. Violent art is not proof of violence, and treating lyrics as confessions is how innocent people get railroaded.

But prosecutors allege Burke did the specific thing his character was written to do, and a whole machine of executives and managers watched a nineteen-year-old sell his own darkness without anyone asking what was underneath it.

Burke has pleaded not guilty and denies all wrongdoing through his attorneys. Celeste Rivas Hernandez was fourteen years old.

Lindsay Clancy Asked For Help And Waited THIS Long Jul 28, 2026
    Show notes

Lindsay Clancy’s last voluntary act before her three children died was checking herself into a psychiatric hospital on New Year’s Eve. The complaint filed against her providers says she waited three days for a doctor who never came, was discharged with a clear bill, and went home to a house full of children and prescriptions and no diagnosis.

Wrapped around four clips from ADA Shanan Buckingham’s opening statement at Plymouth Superior Court, this breakdown goes through the state’s case as she presented it to twelve women and six men.

The premeditation argument runs on timing — a restaurant five miles out, a pharmacy stop, a fourteen-second phone call. Underneath it is the premise that organization proves sanity. The research on postpartum psychosis says close to the reverse, and this episode puts the claim against what the literature actually documents about command hallucinations and functioning during psychosis.

The Massachusetts legal standard gets covered in full — the two-door test most coverage is misstating, and the burden that stays with the prosecution on both. Then the provider record from the civil complaints, line by line against the state’s characterization. A woman the prosecution says manipulated her doctors and a husband who testified she begged them for help. And a final appointment the day before that the state’s opening never goes near.

    Why D4vd's Phone Rang Celeste's Number At 12:04 Jul 28, 2026
    Show notes

Hours after prosecutors say Celeste Rivas Hernandez died, an LAPD detective testified, David Burke's phone and his Tesla were parked on a lonely stretch off Highway 154. At 12:04 in the morning the phone placed a call to her number. It went unanswered, and the car was back in the Hollywood Hills by about seven.

Everything the state has shown at the d4vd preliminary hearing runs through one rented garage in the Hollywood Hills, and the defense has to answer for all of it.

An LAPD criminalist told the court that a presumptive chemical test reacted strongly on the black rubber mats covering that garage floor, and again on the bricks she found underneath them. A rowing machine tested positive. A green tarp tested positive. A charging cord tested positive. A trash bag with wipes inside it tested positive. An inflatable pool that looked spotless and smelled fresh had one area glow under the same chemical, and a second criminalist later fit plastic fragments recovered during the autopsy into the cuts in that pool like puzzle pieces.

Sitting a few feet from all of it were jugs and trays that tested negative and were written into the report without much fuss.

Tony and Robin go item by item. Not to summarize the hearing — to interrogate it. What does the defense say about the pool? What does it say about the chain saw handles that were never swabbed for touch DNA? Or the third saw found in a closet and never collected, or the footwear impressions nobody could lift and nobody ever compared to a shoe?

Blair Berk already got the state's own criminalist to say she cannot call it definitely blood. Only possibly blood.

David Anthony Burke has pleaded not guilty and denies all wrongdoing through his attorneys, and a judge will decide whether there is enough here for a trial. Celeste Rivas Hernandez was fourteen years old.

Is Kouri Richins About To Get A Second Chance?! Jul 28, 2026
    Show notes

Is Kouri Richins about to get a second chance? She was convicted of aggravated murder, sentenced to life without parole on her husband's birthday, and her own children asked the judge to never let her out. Now her lawyers have filed a fourteen-page motion arguing she was denied a fair trial — and the judge who convicted her has stepped aside.

Tony Brueski goes through the motion's three claims: judge bias, excessive financial evidence, and cumulative error. The defense compares Kouri's case to Alex Murdaugh's overturned conviction. The episode explains why that comparison collapses — the Murdaugh ruling turned on jury tampering that doesn't exist in the Richins case.

The episode also covers what the motion reveals about the pattern that has defined Kouri Richins since the night Eric died. A children's grief book published while she was free. A text to an admirer after the guilty verdict promising to "expose them all." And now a fourteen-page filing blaming the judge. Three moments across four years, same operating system.

Inside: the full text of the admirer message from the sentencing memo, the courtroom footage of Kouri rolling her eyes while counselors read her sons' letters, her forty-five-minute sentencing speech telling her children to "be like your dad," the three GIFs accessed on her phone the morning Eric was found dead, and the twenty-six financial felonies still pending. Eric's sister told the court he believed Kouri was the most evil person he'd ever met — and he stayed in the marriage anyway to protect his boys.
