The Murder of Chris Regan part 1 Dec 05, 2024

Show notes

Laura Frizzo was Michigan’s Upper Peninsual’s UP’s first female police chief. One evening, just as she was heading home, a distressed woman arrived at the station, convinced her friend, Chris Regan, was missing. Chris was reliable, detail-oriented, and days away from starting his dream job in North Carolina. His sudden disappearance made no sense—unless someone wanted him gone.

As Chief Frizzo began unraveling the mystery, all roads seemed to lead to a married couple, Kelly and Jason Cochran. Their house, their secrets, and even their journals hinted at something darker. But was it enough to prove what really happened to Chris? And what exactly were they hiding?

The Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum Heist - Part 1 Nov 07, 2024

Show notes

The Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum heist is one of the most baffling art thefts in history! In the early hours of March 18, 1990, two men dressed as cops waltzed into Boston's famous museum, tied up the guards, and made off with 13 pieces of priceless art. Decades later, the frames still hang empty, waiting for the masterpieces to return. The case has never been solved and the missing works—worth over half a billion dollars—are still out there somewhere.

The Hinterkaifeck Murders Oct 24, 2024

Show notes

In April of 1922, neighbors of the Gruber-Gabriel family stumbled upon a grizzly scene on a remote farmstead near Gröbern, Bavaria called Hinterkaifeck. They found all 6 residents - Andreas and Cäzilia Gruber, their daughter Viktoria, her children Cäzilia and Josef, and their maid Maria Baumgartner - bludgeoned to death with a farm tool. When police began their investigation they realized something incredibly eerie - the killer had remained on the property for several days after the murder, feeding the farm animals and using the kitchen, before vanishing without a trace. The investigation would lead to wild speculation about family secrets and local suspects, but the case remains unsolved, cementing it as one of Germany’s most chilling true crime mysteries.

The Murder of Jennifer Myers Oct 17, 2024

Show notes

On August 5, 1996, 43-year-old Jennifer Myers was working alone at the Tailfeather Art Gallery in West Manchester Township, PA. Just before 11 AM, a man walked in, pulled a gun, and demanded money. The robber was interrupted by an unexpected delivery and fled, but he was quickly identified as a man named Kevin Dowling and arrested. But as the trial approached, Jennifer was found brutally murdered in the very gallery she worked. Police were convinced Kevin was the killer, but he had an alibi so airtight it seemed impossible—timestamped footage showed him fishing miles away on the day of the murder. So, who really killed Jennifer Myers? Or did Kevin Dowling somehow pull off the perfect crime?

FROM THE VAULT: The McDonald's Monopoly Scam Oct 10, 2024

Show notes

Mogab is out of town this week, so we are releasing one of our favorite episodes from our Patreon vault!

The monopoly game at McDonald’s ran once a year from the late 80s to the early 2000s. yYou’d get different game pieces that you’d peel off your drink cup or your fries container in exchange for prizes ranging from a free small fry or coke to boats, cars, even a million dollars!

But what people didn’t know was that if you were playing after 1989, you had no chance of legitimately winning the big ticket items.
