The Murder of Julie Jensen Aug 29, 2024

Show notes

On December 3, 1998, 39-year-old Mark Jensen called 911 to report that something was terribly wrong with his wife, 40-year-old Julie Jensen. He had arrived home to find her lying in bed, looking as if she were simply resting. She looked perfectly fine, healthy even. But she wasn't breathing.

First responders arrived within minutes, but their efforts were in vain—Julie was already gone, and it was clear she had been dead for some time. But how? There were no visible signs of injury or trauma, no evidence of drug use or anything that could explain her sudden death.

The questions began to pile up: How could someone who seemed so healthy die so suddenly? What had really happened behind the closed doors of the Jensen home that day? The answers would be more shocking than anyone could have imagined.

RE-RELEASE: CyberStalker 1 AND 2 Jul 18, 2024

Show notes

This episode was originally dropped as a 2 parter, but because we are on our break we decided to put them together and give them to you as one single episode!

After ending a 12 year relationship, Dave Kroupa decided to get back out there, and he signed up for online dating. After several months of dating a few different women, he met Cari Farver. She seemed perfect: incredibly smart, fun, and looking for a casual relationship, like him. But then, after dating for two weeks, Cari texted Dave asking if they should move in together. He was confused - he'd thought they were on the same page, so he told her no. And then he received a message back from Cari filled with vulgar, abusive insults and threats. And the messages didn't stop coming. He received hundreds a day for YEARS. Dave wanted the messages to stop, but Cari Farver could not be found.

RE-RELEASE: The Kidnapping of Denise Huskins Jul 11, 2024

Show notes

This week, we're talking about the kidnapping of Denise Huskins. In the middle of the night on March 22, 2015, a group of broke into the home of Aaron Quinn and kidnapped his girlfriend, Denise Huskins. Aaron's story involved kidnappers wearing wet suits who played pre-recorded messages and wanted very little ransom for Denise's return. His story seemed so unbelievable to police, who were convinced early on that Aaron had done something to Denise. When that seemed unlikely, they formed a new theory: that Denise had never been kidnapped, and she was actually the real life Gone Girl.''
