Follow the show on socials @ConwayShow.

Tim Conway Jr. brings his signature humor to breaking news, Los Angeles current events, Orange County stories, Riverside County headlines, the Inland Empire, live police chases, freeway traffic, Hollywood craziness, pop culture, the big sports stories of the day, politics, gambling, and everything happening across Southern California. With his finger on the pulse of what’s happening in SoCal and beyond, Conway delivers funny, fast-moving talk radio every weeknight on KFI AM 640.

Heard by listeners across the country and around the world on the iHeartRadio App, Conway’s humor, storytelling, and take on the current news of the day connect with audiences far beyond Southern California. His perspective is local, but his comedy, curiosity, and down-to-earth view of life translate across cultures, communities, and languages.

Tim Conway Jr. was born and raised in Los Angeles and is the son of iconic comedy legend Tim Conway of The Carol Burnett Show. He spent his childhood around Santa Anita, Hollywood Park, and Del Mar Racetracks with his father, four younger brothers, and older sister — experiences that helped shape his humor, storytelling, and down-to-earth perspective on life.

During his early career, Conway produced his own internet radio show and, thanks to its popularity, was offered the opportunity to host a talk show on 97.1 KLSX-FM. Over twelve successful years, his show became famous across Southern California for entertaining topics, live police chases, Hollywood craziness, pop culture, sports, and current events with a twist of humor. In 2009, when KLSX switched to an all-music format, Conway joined KFI AM 640, continuing to bring listeners his unique comedic perspective on breaking news, politics, gambling, history, sports, entertainment, and life in SoCal.

Throughout his career, Conway has been featured on Fox 11, CBS, NBC, and ABC, and has received numerous industry honors including a Golden Mic Award, an Edward R. Murrow Award, and a Marconi Award nomination for Personality of the Year. When he’s not entertaining listeners, Conway enjoys spending time with his family, supporting local charities, and hanging out at the racetracks.

Is Vegas Really Dead? Sep 03, 2025
    Show notes

We kick things off with the heatwave and the age-old mistake—why do we always seem to save the hottest days for yard work? While sweating through chores, there’s one thing on everyone’s mind: the Powerball jackpot has soared to a staggering $1.3 billion. People are lining up at gas stations, and one lucky Sherman Oaks station matched five numbers, earning a cool $1 million. But the real question is—what if it were you? We’ll share some practical tips for managing an overnight fortune, from protecting yourself from sudden “long-lost relatives” to making sure you don’t blow it all before tax season. Next, Conway reveals his fast-food hacks—clever little tricks to save money, score secret menu items, and stretch your dollar without sacrificing taste. From extra-large sodas for pocket change to burger build-arounds, these are insider moves every hungry driver will want to hear. Meanwhile, a rainstorm is sweeping through Southern California and several neighboring states, bringing relief to some, chaos to others. We’ll look at what to expect on the roads, how it impacts fire danger, and why even a little rainfall can wreak havoc on SoCal infrastructure. And then we check in with Richie, who takes us to Sin City. Las Vegas is scrambling to win back visitors after a tourism slump—driven in part by high prices. Casinos and resorts are starting to roll out fresh deals and incentives to lure people back. But will cheaper packages be enough to offset the billion-dollar Powerball buzz drawing attention elsewhere? Speaking of which, the jackpot just keeps climbing after no grand prize winner was named. It’s already up to $1.3 billion, making it one of the largest in history.

New Orleans marked the 20th anniversary of Hurricane Katrina with memorials, music, and a parade honoring victims, displaced residents, and the resilient survivors who rebuilt. Encino residents voiced frustration over recurring fires in the Sepulveda Basin, calling on city leaders for solutions. The Powerball jackpot climbed into historic territory, becoming the sixth prize to hit $1 billion. Some joked about buying every number — though skipping the Powerball could save $13 million. Reactions ranged from dreams of an orphanage in El Salvador, to a dream car, to simply buying groceries. As school resumes in early August, Conway reflected on how different childhood felt back then — with carefree, silly fun that today’s kids may never experience the same way.

    Show notes

Alex Stone reports that as Americans unofficially bid farewell to summer, the Labor Day travel rush is setting records. United Airlines expects to fly 3.1 million passengers, the busiest holiday travel period for airlines in 15 years. Domestic fares are up 10% from last year, with the average ticket at $231.
Michael Monks discusses California’s largest cities, Gov. Newsom’s new homeless encampment plan, and Councilwoman Jurado’s opposition to a proposed Home Depot in Eagle Rock, citing ICE raid concerns. Elex Michaelson recalls Palisades Park turning into a kids’ playground with fire engines and ambulances — a rare event that united Rick Caruso and Karen Bass supporters. He also teases big names in his phone contacts and hints at when he’ll announce his next job. NFL blockbuster trade: The Dallas Cowboys stunned fans by sending Micah Parsons to the Green Bay Packers in exchange for Kenny Clark and two future first-round picks. Parsons quickly signed a record-breaking extension with the Packers, while the Cowboys bet on bolstering their run defense and playoff future.
