    Episode 236 : Where should we go?(The Water-Cooler episode) Jul 20, 2020
    Show notes

    We discuss our rides for the week, or lack thereof. Tom visits a multiline dealership in Iowa City, and makes some observations, such as noting there were only a handful of the Japanese bikes on the floor, while the European brands had their full lineups on the floor.

    Chris decides on a Sena for his helmet.

    Kevin describes his Motorcycle safety class from the weekend

    We discuss an issue mentioned in the chat of a BMW motorcycle dealer in Alabama refusing to service bikes not purchased through the dealership. Not appearing to be a manufacturer based policy, but perhaps rather a local one.

    Kevin brings up question of where to go on a motorcycling vacation for himself, or trips that others would like to take. we all chime in on this one.

    Episode 232 : What is MIPS? Jun 16, 2020

    Recorded May 31, 2020

    Larry didn't get to do any riding, b/o rain, other circumstances. Tom did rode his BMW for a 200 mile ride and his new electric bikes as well. Tom points out that riding an electric bicycle gets you used to being out in the elements, having to wear the gear, and so on, similar to what you do with motorcycle rides. Tom had a bit of an incident on his motorcycle ride when he took a turn wide and ran over the double yellow lines. we discuss lapses while riding.

    Topic: Slowdowns on the road by Harleys towing trailers, this leads to discussion of whether you would ever consider towing a trailer.

    News: We talk about the emergence of MIPS helmets in motorcycling. What they are, what the advantages are, and the manufacturers in the US currently who make them.

    We discuss the new Kawasaki design for a 3 wheel leaning motorcycle/vehicle.

    Paddock: Larry reviews the current news on MotoGP racing and plans for the remaining season and quickly reviews the latest virtual MotoGP at virtual Silverstone.

    Episode 231 : Are you being tracked? Jun 16, 2020

    Larry has been riding his bicycle every day, but after seeing so many motorcycles on the road, he decided to do a local circuit to Petaluma and the environs. Chris did get out today, testing out some new equipment. Kevin rode about 160 miles, cooked up a mess o' catfish, rode back home.

    News: We discuss article on Missouri legislature attempting to remove the helmet law. The Yamaha Tenere 700 is coming to US in June. We talk about new satellite GPS tracker device and service, make sure people know this kind of service is available.

    Episode 230 : What Defines a Motorcycle? Jun 06, 2020
    Show notes

    Rides: Chris has been practicing motojitsu. Larry gets his Versys serviced and takes a short ride afterwards. He is nervous about doing a track day. Tom gets a haircut on his scooter and then goes out with his wife on the local twisties.

    Larry notes that in California although traffic has decreased, the number of speeders has increased.

    Kevin and Tom discuss what is happening in terms of motorcycle classes.

    News: Larry bring in the exciting news about winglets on Piaggio MP3 scooters (and perhaps Aprilia's). More exciting news about a Lithuanian titling enclosed trike. Kevin thinks it is a small Slingshot, but Larry objects because it does tilt at speed. There ensues a discussion as to whether this qualifies as a motorcycle (spoiler: it doesn't). More Harley news, new CEO buying Harley stock in his personal account. What does it mean? Appears that Harley will delay introduction of the ADV and Streetfighter bikes. More hot news around origami motorcycles

    Episode 228 : A Surprise Middleweight ADV to rule them all! May 27, 2020
