    Episode 245 : BMW R18 Oct 19, 2020

    We start this episode with questions about our opening video…none of us know where the stock footage was actually filmed but we'd all like to be there.

    Tom taught a class, so had a little riding on the range. He also mentions his 2006 Honda Elite scooter, with 110 cc of engine goodness, which was his first bike. Larry did a couple of rides up the coast last week.

    Episode 241 : Which Bluetooth Communicator Do You Use? Sep 11, 2020
    Show notes

    We start with the rides. Larry does his for his eyes only loosening up before his 90 mile ride through the countryside. Tom has merely trundled about on his electric bicycle this week. did get new tires for his GS, and rode a few miles to scrub the tires. This leads to Kevin's question about what does constitute for each of us, and our listeners, what constitutes a ride? For Tom, and Larry, any distance on the motorcycle is a ride. Kevin asks now what is a quality ride. Tom says a safe one…Kevin looks for a longer distance, perhaps over 50 miles, to count as a quality ride.

    News: We learn that "The Long Way Up" will premiere sept. 18 on Apple Plus TV, and will air the first 3 episodes immediately, and then air the rest on a weekly basis. They couldn't stop the people from coming, but they could have cancelled the rally. Kevin is hoping for the best, Larry is anticipating the worst.

    Topic: With the rise in use of headsets in the helmets, do you ride in silence, with music, or other? Larry is happy with his ancient Sena smh10, enjoys silence as well as music, books, and podcasts Tom is a headset techie, and currently rocks a Cardo Black. Likes to listen to music when riding. Kevin used to listen to music all the time, but more recently for longer freeway rides.

    Paddock: Larry reviews Marquez reinjury trying to qualify for the Jerez race last weekend, and then reviews the results of the Czech MotoGP.


    Episode 240 : Dead Redwood stops by. Aug 17, 2020

    Our rides this week: Tom reaches a milestone. Chris is going to hit the dirt. Larry practices, Kevin meanders.

    We introduce our special guest, Brandon Farnsworth, a San Francisco resident who has a YouTube channel, Dead_Redwood, Moto-vlogging his local rides on his Triumph Bonneville. Brandon describes his bike, his riding history, and his interest in documenting his local travels. He joins us in discussing industry news and presenting a millennial's perspective.

    News: Harley announces they will not be sending their demo trucks to Sturgis, or hosting riders at their usual locations. Moving on to other disturbing Harley news, we discuss their loss announcements and plans to reduce future models and future markets. More bad news, this time from KTM. We also discuss the merits and debits of the KTM 200

    Paddock: Chris reports on Motoamerica Larry reports on Royal Enfield's entry into AFT and also brings in some news and rumors from Moto GP
