Those Conspiracy Guys — Comedy
Those Conspiracy Guys

Those Conspiracy Guys is a history, comedy and true crime podcast from Ireland produced and presented by Gordon Rochford and the topics discussed are varied and wide-ranging; from the speculations on the out-there conspiracy theories like aliens, time travel, and ancient civilisations to researched discussions on the more grounded, historical and provable conspiracies like political and financial corruption, scientific chicanery and secret government agency shenanigans.
In long-form group discussions; interviews with authors and experts; live stage shows and streams with an eager audience; and collaborations with other conspiracy creators; Gordo examines all the wildest notions and most unbelievable theories in the ever broadening genre of ‘conspiracy’. From the high-concept topics like inter-dimensional lizard men, complicated assassination plots and potential future technologies like alternative simulated universes; to the much more tangible topics like discussing serial killers and mysterious true crime cases; exploring the history of religions and cult leaders; and historically profiling the lives and times of some of the most influential people to have lived, and died.
Those Conspiracy Guys brings you on a light hearted and hilarious exploration of these fantastic stories through thoroughly researched and painstakingly contmeplated production; making it easy and fun for these sometimes heavy and complicated topics to be digested, with lashings of good old irreverend Irish craic from host Gordon Rochford and a cavalcade of hilarious comedians, committed creators and fabulously interesting guests.

Oklahoma City Bombing Nov 02, 2020

Show notes

DEEP DIVE -
On this episode we discuss one of the most devastating domestic terrorist attacks on American soil, The Oklahoma City Bombing; the story of which involved white supremacist militia, secret government agents, ex-military operatives, and of course the deaths of 168 people. On 19th April 1995 a truck exploded in front of the Alfred P Murrah Building and killed 168 people and injured almost 700 more. This huge explosion caused over $650 million damage and was apparently set up and set off by the now infamous Timothy McVeigh.
Arrested away from the scene for a dodgy license plate; McVeigh became the main culprit and was paraded through network news shows as a vicious anti-government militia member with ties to white supremacy organisations. These militia movements and incidents involving them in the 90s; including the like of Waco and Ruby Ridge, were becoming almost commonplace in the modern news media. McVeigh was an ex-military operative and apparently worked on some special operations in special forces units in his time there. This fact leads some people to believe that McVeigh was in fact framed for this bombing and that it was part of a manipulation plot by the US Government to control these militia movements.
Joining me on this episode are Eamonn O'Neill and Tom O'Mahony.

Ed Kemper Sep 01, 2020

Show notes

TRUE CRIME -
On this episode we talk about a behemoth of a man and one of the most famous serial killers ever; main subject in the TV series Mindhunter and known as The Co-Ed Killer, Ed Kemper. As with most of these cases Ed had a shoddy upbringing and was brought up in a single parent abusive home. His murderous predilections started to show early as he killed pets and small animals.
This very troubled man became one of the most well known killers in the world; not least because of his gruesome technique and the manipulation of the bodies of his victims after death. Arrested at just 25 he spent the rest of his life int he same prison as Charles Manson; where he still resides today aged 71. His surrender, behaviour and demeanour after arrest led him to be a trustee and eventually help the FBI with their profiling work, as we saw in Mindhunter.
A strange man with a dark psyche; and joining me to talk about Ed Kemper is comedian Sean Nolan. You can watch Sean Nolan do comedy here https://youtu.be/kE0CyQswKeo or on Instagram here https://www.instagram.com/seanncomedy/ but he is very hard to find online otherwise! :) Now you know what he looks like you might be able to find him somewhere! :)

Show notes

SWAPCAST -

On this Swapcast I join the lads from 'Straight Outta Lockdown' and chat about what its like having a head during this unprecedented time in modern history! Their podcast is hosted by Asa and Kieran and they chat with worldly folks about what life has been like under lockdown, how it measures up to the way it was before; and what the future holds in this global tidal wave of uncertainty.

Asa is a mad fan of TCG and asked me to come on the show to talk about the more conspiratorial elements of Covid19 (presumably to further pick my brain) but we ended up all talking about life and the creative and motivational crisis a lot of us seem to find ourselves in! We talk relationships, creativity, the future of entertainment, and there are a healthy amount of cock jokes in there too! :)

If you want to find the lads, their social and their podcast links; click on this link and you'll be brought right there! https://linktr.ee/solpodcast

Jeffrey Dahmer May 27, 2020

Show notes

TRUE CRIME -
On this episode we talk about The Milwaukee Monster; a man who invented the term bag of dicks; and one of the most famous and depraved killers in history; Jeffrey Dahmer. Born into a relatively normal family, Jeffrey began his life work and graphic depravities at a young age. An attention seeker with an alcohol problem, Jeffrey wasn't short of attention but when his inner desires rose to the top it resulted in frequent and horrendously violent ends for his victims.
Famously known as The Milwaukee Cannibal; Jeffrey was known to keep the bodies of his victims in his fridge for weeks, slowly consuming them; but this was not the apex of his human experimentation. With a confession of 17 murders there could still be more who died at Jeffrey's hand.
Joining me on this episode are Marcus O'Laoire (https://www.instagram.com/marcusthedj/) and Taz Kelleher (https://www.instagram.com/tazkelleher) from In The Shower podcast (https://open.spotify.com/show/4RkAPiL5LT5sMS1KhOwPbD?si=Tfyuw6ShRg6MYNjCsM9oKQ)
