Those Conspiracy Guys — Comedy
Those Conspiracy Guys

Those Conspiracy Guys is a history, comedy and true crime podcast from Ireland produced and presented by Gordon Rochford and the topics discussed are varied and wide-ranging; from the speculations on the out-there conspiracy theories like aliens, time travel, and ancient civilisations to researched discussions on the more grounded, historical and provable conspiracies like political and financial corruption, scientific chicanery and secret government agency shenanigans.
In long-form group discussions; interviews with authors and experts; live stage shows and streams with an eager audience; and collaborations with other conspiracy creators; Gordo examines all the wildest notions and most unbelievable theories in the ever broadening genre of ‘conspiracy’. From the high-concept topics like inter-dimensional lizard men, complicated assassination plots and potential future technologies like alternative simulated universes; to the much more tangible topics like discussing serial killers and mysterious true crime cases; exploring the history of religions and cult leaders; and historically profiling the lives and times of some of the most influential people to have lived, and died.
Those Conspiracy Guys brings you on a light hearted and hilarious exploration of these fantastic stories through thoroughly researched and painstakingly contmeplated production; making it easy and fun for these sometimes heavy and complicated topics to be digested, with lashings of good old irreverend Irish craic from host Gordon Rochford and a cavalcade of hilarious comedians, committed creators and fabulously interesting guests.

Bandwagons - Conspiracy Theories Dec 24, 2019

Show notes

SWAPCAST -
This was a cracker of a Swapcast where I join Fionnula and Brid from Bandwagons to chat about conspiracy theories old and new in the wonderfully comfortable Collaborative Studios! I pushed the girls to the limits of their good taste (their public limits anyway) and we discussed such conspiracy classics as The Anunnaki, JP Morgan and The Boston Bombings and we also tip toed around the very recent revelations on Epstein and Prince Andrew.
The girls are great banter and I know at least some of you want to hear this top banter female led pop culture podcast so head over to https://twitter.com/bandwagonspod and https://www.instagram.com/bandwagonspodcast/

Open Minds Conference 2019 Dec 24, 2019

Show notes

LIVE STAGE SHOW -
The folks at Open Minds Conference were kind enough to ask me down to speak a second time in Dooleys Hotel in Waterford this November. IT was amazing to be surrounded by such receptive and well intentioned people and to be allowed to witness so many brilliant speakers spreading ideas and messages to willing ears.
I was asked to speak about conspiracy facts and the understanding was a bit of humour was called for; this was in the middle of a large collection of consummate professionals and experts. Well, they loved my little dick joke telling shenanigans as we waded through conspiracy stories from history that have revealed themselves to be true!

Majestic 12 Dec 19, 2019

Show notes

DEEP DIVE -
On this episode we talk about the worst kept secret in UFO culture; and yet one of the most intangible and unprovable secret cabals of knowledge and power; The Majestic 12. Created in 1947 as the committee to hide UFO knowledge from the population; Project MJ12 and its high ranking members knew that the UFO phenomenon was about to get big. They had to control this narrative.
Top level military and intelligence appointments to Majestic 12 ensured its secrecy and its potential influence over the UFO hysteria sweeping the nation. They needed to control the media, who were rabid with stories of sightings and close encounters daily. UFO mania was on and a measured approach to the problem was needed.
Majestic 12 was one barely provable operation by US military; but experiments like Project Sign, Project Grudge and Project Mogul were documented and very real, and laid beside MJ12, made the whole thing to seem more legitimate somehow. When documents found their way into the hands of Stand Freidman and Bill Moore the UFO community went bananas over this 'evidence'
This could all be a top level hoax to distract a population willing to believe; so join us as I chat with @EdwinSammon and @KevinMcGahern as we go in search of the elusive Majestic 12

The BTK Killer Nov 01, 2019

Show notes

TRUE CRIME -
On this episode we talk about one of the most mysterious and audacious killers in history as we wade through the words and deeds of Denis Rader aka The BTK Killer. Gary Jones joins me on this episode to chat about what makes Denis Rader tick and how he couldn't be caught for decades, despite his apparently forthcoming attitude to law enforcement and somewhat low intelligence.
There are rumours of Rader being the Zodiac Killer, due to the collections of numerous letters that he would often send to victims and law enforcement and, as is almost always the case, a strange history of peeping tomfoolery and molestations of small animals. He taunted the FBI and police when they couldn't catch him and this stirred up the public and made BTK think he was invincible; which would eventually be his own undoing.

Madame Helena Blavatsky Oct 05, 2019

Show notes

DEEP DIVE -
On this episode we talk about a lesser known but extremely influential woman at the forefront of esoteric thought and a pioneer in the field in its earliest years, Madame Helena Blavatsky. The grandmother of theosophy and a world traveller and famed philosopher from the 19th century, Blavatsky started her knowledge journey at a very young age in the library of her grandfather, reading esoteric texts and classic philosophy, which gave her a hunger for more.
Blavatsky spent almost a decade of her twenties on an information gathering adventure around the world, examining different cultures and civilisations, uncovering lost texts and tales from dark parts of the globe and she came back with tales of mystic men and ancient religions and beliefs; and the most unbelievable yarns of magic, mystery and even international espionage.
Blavatsky's writings were well regarded in the field and new secular spiritual organisations at the time were forming all over the world. Her findings confirmed what they believed and were adopted into the canon of many of these organisations the most famous of which was The Theosophical Society. This was the culmination of the power of these writings and their mission to understand the world through ancient knowledge led to very interesting findings that traditional science only found a century later.
Blavatsky became a superstar in this Victorian Spiritual revival in the late 19th century and her speaking tours and private audiences were attended by the good and great of the high spociety in the US and England. The Secret Doctrine became her seminal work and it and others like Isis Unveiled were made essential reading for turn of the century occultists and modern free thinkers alike.
