I know that I'm not the only one fawning over the beautiful spaces seen on Apartment Therapy and HGTV. Anyone else sitting on a Pinterest board full of inspiration with zero completed projects? Well if you were looking for a sign to finally put that project in motion, this is it. Today I am joined by Interior Designer, Tiffany Thompson of Duett Interiors, for Part 1 of our January Jumpstart series. All month long we’ll be discussing steps you can take to get started with some of the goals you may be considering this year. Tiffany and I chatted about how to get started with figuring out your interior design style, small steps you can take in your space to get a big impact, some of the common mistakes people make when shopping for home goods online, and she shares some of her favorite places to shop for beautiful pieces.

Insecure Finale: Producers' Conversation Jan 02, 2022

Like many of you, the members of our production team were front and center every Sunday night to catch the new episodes of Insecure because we were fans of the show. But watching Insecure also became a large part of our production process as a team. We have a group chat where we share our reactions to the episodes, we discussed which episodes we would recap, and what topics we wanted to delve deeper into. So not only are we saying goodbye to the show, we’re also saying goodbye to that piece of our work together. So we wanted to share our thoughts about what this has meant to our work, our thoughts on the finale, and some thoughts on the documentary that was released to accompany the finale detailing more of the behind the scenes action.

The Therapy for Black Girls Podcast is a weekly conversation with Dr. Joy Harden Bradford, a licensed Psychologist in Atlanta, Georgia, about all things mental health, personal development, and all the small decisions we can make to become the best possible versions of ourselves.

Our experiences in spaces like social media are heavily impacted by our identities and how we show up in the world. While this can be the grounds for increased connections and networks, it can also be the basis for things like racialized cyber bullying and harassment. Joining me today to dig deeper into what these experiences look like online and how we might be impacted are Dr. Brendesha Tynes and Dr. Danielle Hairston. During our conversations we chatted about what radicalized cyberbullying and harassment might look like online, how it impacts young people, how it might impact our mental health, and how we can support ourselves and loved ones who might have had these experiences.

    Show notes

The Therapy for Black Girls Podcast is a weekly conversation with Dr. Joy Harden Bradford, a licensed Psychologist in Atlanta, Georgia, about all things mental health, personal development, and all the small decisions we can make to become the best possible versions of ourselves.

The holiday season, even when not in a pandemic, can bring up lots of stuff. While this season may bring lots of good things like gathering with loved ones and some days off of work, it can also mean family pressures, anxiety, stress, and overwhelm. In November 2017, I shared some thoughts here on the podcast about the differences between the holiday blues and a major depressive disorder and a few tips on how to steady yourself for the holidays and all of that information is just as true today.
