22: Episode 82 - Bills enter BYE week with 14-7 win
Oct 07, 2019
Show notes
For the first time since 2011, the Buffalo Bills begin the season with a 4-1 start, as they defeated the Tennessee Titans 14-7. It was another close game between the Titans and Bills, but with a stout defense, and a good enough offense, the Bills head into the BYE week with a decent stretch of schedule ahead of them. The Bills defense were all over Marcus Mariota all day, only allowing 285 yards of offense from the hot and cold Titans. Mariota has been known for these type of games, and team never truly know what side of him that they'll get. For the Bills' sake, it was good that they weren't on the receiving end of what the Titans did to Cleveland and Atlanta. Josh Allen had an average game for himself, passing for just over 200 yards against the tough Titan's defense. He took advantage of "Duke" Williams promotion to the 53-man roster, and gave him his first touchdown of his NFL career for the former CFL stud. Buffalo returns to action in Week 7 against the Miami Dolphins, a favorable game to return to, but shouldn't be overlooked, as the streaking Philadelphia Eagles are just around the corner.

21: Episode 81 - Bills fall to Patriots

Show notes
It's a result that has been seen far too often in the 21st Century. The New England Patriots, standing tall in the home of the Buffalo Bills. No matter how many name changes the stadium has gone through over the last 19 years, it hasn't helped the fortunes. This wasn't the same kind of loss however, if that makes matters any better. Tom Brady didn't have a "career game" against the Bills' defense. In fact, it was his worst offensive showing of 2019, which speaks volumes to the quality of the this defense. Frequent stops from the defense, led to Buffalo dominating statistically in passing, rushing, total offense, and time of possession. The defense did their job, and unfortunately, the offense could not. Josh Allen, although narrowly beating Brady in passing yards, did not look like a franchise quarterback. It was a step back in his progress. 3 interceptions at crucial occasions marred his day, along with a vicious hit that may have sent him into the concussion protocol for some time. To Matt Barkley's credit, the offense actually moved along quite well when he took over the offense. It was a reality check for a Bills team that faced it's first true quality team, a winnable game, that slipped through their fingers. In the long run, perhaps it will be the best thing to happen to this young team, as they look to rebound against the Tennessee Titans before their bye week.

20: Episode 80 - Bills hang on to defeat Bengals

Show notes
Buffalo won another gritty game in their 2019 campaign, edging out the win-less Cincinnati Bengals 21 - 17 after losing their two touchdown lead in the beginning of the fourth quarter. While looking at the game from a first glance, these games go such a long way. Not every game is easy in the NFL, and it shows a team's character, as eluded to by Sean McDermott in his post-game press conference. It's important to be challenged, and twice in three games, Buffalo has won truly challenging games. However, their next game will undoubtedly be the most challenging yet. Josh Allen, and Bengals QB Andy Dalton nearly mirrored each other statistically. It was a positive day for Allen, aside from making a bad interception, throwing across his body. Buffalo dominated in the rushing game as well, despite being without rookie stud Devin Singletary. The Bills' rushing attack was firmly led by Frank Gore, who tacked on 76 yards and a touchdown to his legendary career. Dawson Knox also led receivers, with 67 yards receiving, and his first touchdown in his NFL career. Buffalo has an intriguing, and much anticipated game against the also 3-0 New England Patriots this Sunday. Another indicator of how good this team can be. The two most competitive units in the AFC East typically always have exciting games, but the Bills' will have to be at their absolute best if they are to finally overcome the ever dangerous Patriots.

19: Episode 79 - Bills dominate struggling Giants 28-14
Sep 16, 2019
Show notes
Buffalo controlled a struggling New York Giants team, with the exception of the opening drive, to improve to 2-0 on the 2019 season. The team played well on every side of the ball, and it showed, giving the Bills a lot of momentum as they back home to Buffalo for their home opener against the winless Cincinnati Bengals. Aside from Saquon Barkley dominating the defense in the opening drive, the Giants couldn't muster up much of anything on the day. The Bills' defense caused two interceptions, and forced a non-turnover fumble. Buffalo was all over Eli Manning throughout the day, but perhaps not enough to retire him. Josh Allen soared on the day, making big time throws in wide open spaces to his receivers. It was a great showing for Allen as he attempts to silence his critics in his passing game, and develop into the kind of quarterback that the Bills' offense needs and has lacked for many years. 253 passing yards on the day for him, as well as a passing touchdown and a rushing touchdown. Overall, it was a good day for New York's geographically lone football team, and should leave plenty of optimism for at least another week. The Bills Mafia are sure to be loud and rowdy on Sunday for the home opener against the quarterback who helped send the Bills to the playoffs in 2017, Andy Dalton.

18: Episode 78 - Bills rebound to beat Jets 17-16
Sep 09, 2019
Show notes
A win is a win. That is what a lot of Bills fans and perhaps team members are feeling this morning after the Buffalo Bills defeated the New York Jets 17-16 at MetLife Stadium on Sunday. The Bills overcame sloppy play, bad penalties, costly turnovers, amongst other issues to get the ever important divisional win. If the game ended at half time, many people would be left with little optimism. The Bills offered a very one-dimensional offense, primarily passing, which led to two interceptions that bounced off the hands of Cole Beasley and Zay Jones. Down 16 points in the middle of the third quarter, with a goose egg in their score tally, Buffalo mounted its biggest comeback since 2011, starting with a Stephen Hauschka Field Goal, then, finally unleashing rookie Devin Singletary to help the Bills move 170 yards on two drives and deliver two touchdowns. One from Josh Allen on the run, and another, a deep ball from Allen to John Brown, who led the receivers on both teams on Sunday. With this win, the Bills are tied with the Patriots for first place in the AFC East and are set to return to the same venue for a Week 2 game against the New York Giants.
17: Episode 77 - Bills vs Jets Week 1 Preview
Sep 03, 2019
Show notes
Still recovering from a wild weekend of preseason trades, cuts and signings, the Buffalo Bills and the Bills Mafia are geared up and ready for the first week of the regular season. The Bills will face their AFC East rival, the New York Jets, at MetLife Stadium this Sunday, 1 p.m. kickoff time in what is sure to be an exciting match up between the two teams. Buffalo and the Jets have both had very similar off seasons, rebuilding their teams, and building around their respective sophomore quarterbacks. The Jets have superstar RB Le'veon Bell this season, and while we haven't seen him play a down of preseason football, this will be an interesting test to see of the defense is as good as many expect and hope. Bell was ranked third in rushing yards for 2017, his last full season, and his versatility as a receiving back is a huge benefit for a Jets offense that was ranked 29th in total offense last year. Josh Allen is expected to progress against a Jets secondary that gave up over 4,000 yards in the air in 2018. If Allen is to show signs of growth, a solid passing effort on his part is to be expected here. Especially with a Jets defense that is rather effective against the run,
