Today's episode is the second in a two-part series going in-depth into which mindset is holding you back and what can slingshot you into success. If you haven't listened to the first part yet, stop this now and check out our previous episode!

In this second episode, we talk about how you can start incorporating the growth mindset into your life, and how it can affect our kids, athletics, business, and even leadership. Listen in as we talk about the conversations we can have without kids to instill a growth mindset and how kindly telling them the truth can actually create more motivation and realistic expectations for the work they have put in.

You'll learn about a study of Olympic swimmers that found not one of them was considered the best swimmer at their high schools and how being naturally talented doesn't necessarily dictate how far you go. We talk about the importance of having a growth mindset in leadership and how you can spot a potential employee that has the same mindset within their work ethic. You'll gain practical steps on how to overcome a fixed mindset and acknowledge the areas where you need growth.

    16. The Ultimate Edge: Fixed vs Growth Mindset by Carol Dweck (Part One) Apr 21, 2021
    Show notes

If you've listened to The Unlimited Potential Show you've heard us talk about the importance of mindset and how it can make or break where you want to go in life. Today we start a two-part series going in-depth into which mindset is holding you back and what can slingshot you into success.

Carol Dweck is a Stanford Psychologist who has pioneered the idea of the 'Fixed vs Growth Mindset.' If you've ever said to yourself, "That's just the way I am" then you may be a victim of a fixed mindset. We discuss the difference between a fixed and growth mindset, how you can identify them within yourself, and even how it may have been ingrained in us since elementary school.

Paying attention to your everyday life, what you say, how you behave, and what you think of yourself is a big indicator of where you are in your mindsets and how you can better yourself with just a few simple practices. You'll learn how to differentiate in your own life where your mindsets differ and how you can improve in every area even if you previously thought it impossible.

So listen in as we deep dive into Carol Dweck's book and analyze it with open minds and ears. For more information about the "Mindset" book, or more information about others we talk about in this episode check the links below.

    13. Warrior Mindset vs The Monk Mindset: Become Extraordinary In Every Scenario Mar 31, 2021
    Show notes

"Victorious warriors win first and then go to war, while defeated warriors go to war first and then seek to win." -Sun Tzu.

Hey, Dr. Ram and Chris here! Welcome back to the Unlimited Potential Show! As you already know if you listen to our show, preparation is important, right? People spend months getting ready for their wedding, their first day on the job, people spend years in school preparing for their career of choice, the list goes on.

In our culture, it seems like preparation is only applied for big moments in one's life. What if we approached everything with that level of preparation and intentionality? Mind, body, spirit, career, family life, all of it.

This concept is why in today's episode we are talking about the warrior mindset and the monk mindset and the importance of balancing the two. This is a concept we read about in the book The Buddha and the Badass: The Secret Spiritual Art of Succeeding at Work.

Listen in to hear our thoughts on this approach to living, how mental preparation is often more important than physical preparation, putting yourself in the mental state and mindset for success is of the utmost importance, and so much more.

    11. The Architect of The Future: Understanding Elon Musk Mar 17, 2021
    Show notes

Einstein, Newton, Tesla, these are names we all know, they are amazing thought leaders, innovators, and radical thinkers that brought ingenuity and wonder into the world. These radical thinkers are still around and in today's episode, we talk about one of the biggest out there, Elon Musk.

We discuss the amazing advances technology has made within the last 20 years from giant computers in the '80s to the ever-growing popularity and science of esports. These things show off the complexity of the human brain and the unlimited potential of what we as human beings are capable of. But every once in a while, there is someone that exceeds even the big expectations of growing as a human race.

Diving into the mind of Musk and any other radical thinker is something we believe deeply in here on the Unlimited Potential show, we talk about Musk's professional history, how he has built and sold multiple million-dollar companies and continues to do so. We discuss his vision, how he builds the future through his mindset, and even how he keeps up his seemingly endless ambition.

Join us as we deconstruct Musk's psychology and how it has gotten him to create life-changing inventions, as well as our own thoughts and takeaways from his methods and ideologies. Unlimited potential is available if we are willing to believe and let ourselves see things from a different perspective.

    10. How Admitting You're Wrong Can Make You Better Mar 10, 2021
    Show notes

Have you ever wondered what makes entrepreneurs like Gary Vee run? He has tons of pursuits, is always changing, always learning and it's not just copious amounts of caffeine that makes him successful.

In today's episode, we discuss two different mindsets that might have you reflecting on how you react to other people. Think about when someone tells you that you're wrong, do you tense up and get defensive, or does it strike your curiosity? You can't have a right or wrong answer to this, but it may give you insight into just what kind of mindset you hold, the soldier or the scout.

We talk about the balance needed between these two mindsets and how you can practically work towards a more open mind that will have you growing, changing, and learning faster than you ever have before. Understanding where you are in your journey for unlimited potential comes with being honest with yourself, and those around you to create stronger, more valuable, and more communicative relationships.

Admitting you are wrong and changing your mind is not a sign of weakness, but rather, is the ultimate strength.
