    34. Deep Work: Focusing On What Matters Aug 25, 2021
    Show notes

Bear with us now, but imagine for a moment that you're a competitive eater. Imagine that in your next competition you have to finish a huge steak surrounded by vegetables, buttered rolls, and potatoes. But the only thing that matters to win is finishing the steak. You probably wouldn't go for the sides first, this could waste time and cost you your victory. Instead, you'd go for the giant steak because it's the thing that matters the most right?

So what are you focusing on? The meat or the sides?

This may sound like a strange analogy but maintaining focused on what really matters to win is a skill that is sadly becoming rarer and rarer. In today's episode we take a look into the book "Deep Work" by Cal Newport where he explains his simple process to eliminating distractions and finding the deep focus you need to reach any goal.

If you've been listening to The Unlimited Potential Show you've heard us talk about accelerated growth and a big part of tapping into that acceleration is sifting through the distractions and keeping your eyes on the prize. You'll learn practical ways to shed your shallow work, exercise your brain, and upgrade your concentration. Plus, how you can create a schedule free of distractions that allows your deep work to thrive, saving you time and energy.

It's easy to get distracted by the little things but by practicing these simple steps you can create a deeper, more productive life and career. For more resources or to join our private Facebook group, check out the links below!

    30. Create The Life You Want Through Micro Habits Jul 28, 2021
    Show notes

We all like to indulge from time to time, allow a piece of cake here, skip a gym day there and so on. However, sometimes these allowances become bad habits on a subconscious level, ones we don't even realize we're doing. It feels good at the moment, but it may take the course of your life way off track.

Welcome back to The Unlimited Potential Show! In today's episode, we take a deep dive into the book Atomic Habits: Tiny Changes, Remarkable Results by James Clear. Join us as we discuss the impact even a small habit may have on your health and mental state. For example, those five cups of coffee may have more significant consequences down the road than you think, and breaking a habit is almost more challenging than creating a new one. We cover all this and more while working through our own atomic habits.

Listen in as we talk about the 4 step process of cue, craving, response, and reward to create any habit easily. We walk step by step through the habits we want to implement, as well as the micro habits that keep us from our Unlimited Potential. You'll learn precisely what will work and what will set you up for failure, as well as reducing a new habit down to 2 minutes, and even the best three ways to break a habit. From spending hours on our phones to waking up early and exercising every morning, we all have small practices that can either improve or degrade our lives. Which way will you choose?

To hear more about atomic habits, hit that play button and grab a notebook because this episode is jam-packed with useful information!

    29. The Top Personality Test: A Deep Dive Into Self-Awareness Jul 21, 2021
    Show notes

One thing about Unlimited Potential is that you have to commit to being ok with change. You must be open to learning a new way of doing things and the best way to grow is to know where you start. Personality tests are a great tool to know exactly where you are in your journey.

They show you the box; all you have to do is break free.

Welcome back to the Unlimited Potential Show. In today's episode, we deep dive into The Big 5 personality test and how it can give you some amazing insight into how you think and work as a human being. We go over the main five categories of the test and their subcategories, and how they define where you are in a crowd of 100 people. We discuss attributes like agreeableness, conscientiousness, and even neuroticism. There are many outlier effects on people's personalities; stress, excitement, frustration, to name a few, are all things that change how you view yourself and the world around you. Knowing yourself can drastically help how you interact with others at work or home.

Listen in as we find out more about ourselves and how we use personality tests not to tell us who we are, but so we have a measurable place to start. You'll learn the balance of negative and positive traits and how you can use them to grow in your Unlimited Potential no matter what. Join us as we talk about our results, how we've improved since college, where we want to be, and how we plan to get there. There is no bad outcome to a personality test, only information that you can capitalize on and grow past.

We hope this episode gives you a look into how you can use these tools to enrich and upgrade your life!
