    Living Authentically with Tasha Smith Dec 13, 2021

    This week we are joined by Tasha Smith who is known for her acting roles in hit films such as "Why Did I Get Married?" and "Why Did I Get Married, Too?" In the past few years, Tasha has shifted her focus to being behind the camera as a director. Most recently, she has taken the helm of several series including STARZ’s Black Family Mafia and Lee Daniels' FOX show, "Our Kind of People," and Amazon's "Harlem."

    In this episode, we talk to Tasha about how her upbringing in Camden, New Jersey influenced her approach to filmmaking and TV and why she practices radical vulnerability in all her relationships. Plus, we dive into her spiritual journey and how she came to believe in a higher power.

    We also talk about how she landed the role of Dr. Nya Wallace on the highly-anticipated HBO Max reboot of "Sex and the City," called, "And Just Like That..." And, last but not least, we discuss why there's "extra sweetness in being a Black woman."
