    SLP 080: January Was NUTS & the Just One Mentality Feb 07, 2022
    Show notes

    In this episode of The Success Lift Podcast, Brian speaks about the goals and resolutions we all had for 2022, but for some reason, weren't achieved. After one month into the New Year, it's important to look back and audit it so see what worked and what didn't. It's completely normal to fall off track, but what most people don't get is that we don't have to sacrifice the whole journey for the sake of just one deviation.

    Brian also highlights the importance of being comfortable with making mistakes, being ok with breaking a consistent pattern, and accepting that we are flawed humans… but there is beauty in not being perfect. And hey, you can always pick up the healthy habits from where you left off, right? Look at yourself in the mirror and ask yourself two questions: "Who do I want to be?" and "What does this moment call for?"

    Key Highlights

    • We find ourselves truly self-confident when we struggle with something for a couple of days (or weeks) but we find the power to get out of it;
    • Falling off track is normal, we all do it at one point, but true change only comes if you feel comfortable with being imperfect;
    • Look yourself in the mirror and ask yourself what type of person do you want to be from this very moment on;
    • Be comfortable with being flawed;
    • We all should look back to our day and try to find out what worked, what didn't work, and what needs to be changed.

    SLP 079: MLB Mindset with Shea Hillenbrand Jan 31, 2022
    Show notes

    Shea Hillenbrand is a former baseball player, who now coaches elite pro athletes and leaders on a variety of topics like mindset, performance, and identity. Having gone through a mindset transformation himself, Shea believes that motivation is simply a consequence of action, and action can be achieved by taking simple steps every day.

    This concept is the foundation of his work and the source of his teachings.

    In this episode of The Success Lift Podcast, Shea shares a good part of his story when fame and prestige weren't enough to give him happiness, and how he was able to willfully find purpose amidst chaos. Shea also speaks about the lack of self-confidence that comes to surface when we don't do what we committed ourselves to do. Failure is the first step to self-doubt, but it's also the first step to build resilience. Tune in!

    Key Highlights

    • Shea talks about the importance of finding purpose, which he actually did long after being famous and having prestige;
    • People connect so much of what they do with who they are, and that's a misconception of what we really came here to do;
    • Resilience is not something that is created overnight, it's a step-by-step process that is built overtime after a good amount of failures;
    • Action begets motivation – and not the other way around;
    • The biggest competitors we have to face in life are ourselves, our limiting thoughts, and the wrong beliefs we have about our true potential.

    SLP 078: Alpha Hippie with Angelo Sisco Jan 24, 2022
    Show notes

    In this episode of The Success Lift Podcast, Brian brings to you a very honest conversation with Angelo Sisco. Angelo is the leader of Alpha Hippie, an exclusive coaching program for men, and the host of Alpha Hippie Podcast. Today, Angelo opens up about difficult moments of his life when his body was not capable to keep up with his mind and, at that moment, he knew that change would only happen if he decided to make it happen.

    Angelo also sheds light on the situations in life where we don't feel proud of what we achieved. Sometimes, the goals we had when we were young simply don't match with the goals and aspirations we are now pursuing, and that's ok. You will also hear about the work that Angelo does through his coaching program "Masculine Mastery" where he helps men to get rid of limiting beliefs and replace it with more encouraging ones. Tune in!

    Episode Resources

    • Angelo talks about his past when he struggled with his physical condition and how he was able to make changes;
    • Angelo talks about how common it is for men to seek protection in every relationship (mostly due to the relationship we had with our mothers) and how to stop being so codependent;
    • How to change the circumstances of our life into something we're proud of;
    • How important it is to recognize that it's ok not to have the same dreams and goals we had when we were young;

    SLP 077: The Mayor's Office with Sean Casey Jan 17, 2022
    Show notes

    In this episode of The Success Lift Podcast, Brian welcomes Sean Casey. Having been a MLB player for 12 years, Sean has assimilated a lot of the mindset, attitude, and perspective of a baseball player and applied it to the situations and lessons of his current day to day life. He talks about how persistence is fundamental in all areas of life, in the field, and it's extremely important to reach a goal.

    Sean and Brian also discuss interesting aspects of fatherhood and how kids should be responsible – and should be made responsible – for the choices they make in life. As a parent, the limit of what can be done in terms of guidance and advice goes only to a certain point, and what might happen beyond that point should be entirely a responsibility of the child. Tune in to listen to the whole episode!

    Key Highlights

    • Sean dives deep into his background as a MLB player and what lessons he took from this time of his life;
    • Sean talks about fatherhood and how important it is to understand the fine line between helping too much and not helping at all. According to him, parents need to navigate carefully the daily situations they will be "disabling the kids by enabling the kids";
    • Sean highlights the importance of not getting too caught up on the results and just enjoying the process. Being too stressful about the end goal can originate feelings of anxiety;
    • Sean talks about his own process of setting up a routine that works for him, making the day more organized and more structured.

    Show notes

    In this episode of The Success Lift Podcast, Brian welcomes Austin Linney to discuss all things sobriety, constructing (and reconstructing) life, and how to find a way when everything seems lost. Austin shares with us his past dealing with alcohol abuse and drugs, which led to a big twist on his life. He also talks about the dilemmas he had to face, the internal struggles he had to solve, and how he found a way out.

    The second half of the episode is dedicated to the work as a coach that Austin does. As a mindset coach and business consultant, he works really closely with people wanting to create results – but that end up creating excuses. Austin explains that for the majority of his clients, and people in general, the key is to focus on what matters now, instead of focusing on what once did. SLP 075: Happy New Year Jan 03, 2022
    Show notes

    New Year goals exist for a reason. We want to be better people, get in shape, get a new job, have more income, stop smoking, whatever the case might be. These goals are all valid and important because they make us grow as a human being, but all of them have one thing in common: they can start being pursued today.

    In this episode of The Success Lift Podcast, Brian shares a message about goals and resolutions for 2022. More important than setting a new goal is having the patience to go after it little by little, each day. Small changes that happen continuously are the key to big results and being good at something with consistency is way better than trying to be perfect and fail, right? Tune in to listen to the whole episode!

    Key Highlights

    • Brian explains the importance of setting goals and challenging ourselves just hard enough in order to make us grow;
    • If everything feels in place and nothing seems to happen, have the curiosity to discover another goal;
    • Being good with consistency is more reasonable than trying to be perfect.

    SLP 073: Live Legendary with Larry Hagner Dec 20, 2021
    Show notes

    In this episode of The Success Lift Podcast, Brian welcomes Larry Hagner to discuss all things masculinity, connections, marriage, and how to improve each and every one of the relationships we have in life. Larry shares a bit of his work with his podcast, "The Dad Edge", where he talks with different guests that have the opportunity to express different perspectives, transforming this work into something inspiring for him.

    SLP 072: Be a Pimp with Paul Roseberry Dec 13, 2021
    Show notes

    The way you see yourself is the same way other people see you. When we talk about self development and the concept of "be better", a great part of it is to identify how we talk to ourselves, which thoughts we are feeding, and which habits we are reproducing, because all of that reflects on the environment. The key idea here is: Be who you are supposed to be in order to be treated like you are supposed to be.

    In this episode of The Success Lift Podcast, Brian has a frank and interesting conversation with Paul Roseberry. Paul is a dating coach who specializes in helping people find their own value and use it the right way. Paul talks about his background as a kid when he didn't have a lot of confidence and how he was able to become a comedian and a communicator using and learning how to hear his own voice.

    Key Highlights

    • Paul talks about the importance of finding our own value and maximizing it to the world, showing up for ourselves;
    • How other people perceive us is a reflection of how we perceive ourselves;
    • Paul shares advice on how to improve relationships using 'flexibility' and learning how to recognize the moment of giving in.

    SLP 071: The Home Stretch Dec 08, 2021
    Show notes

    New Year's resolutions are the foundation of what we want to accomplish in this new cycle of life. The majority of people set up new goals, plans, and changes that need to be started someday… so they choose January 1st to actually go for it. What most of us don't get though is that the first day of the first month of the New Year is just another day, and the changes we are postponing can happen here and now.

    In this episode of The Success Lift Podcast, Brian talks about the importance of taking action today and being honest with ourselves. In fact, taking action requires accountability and responsibility and if we are missing some of these characteristics, we can always count on someone to be there for us, to encourage us to do the right thing, and to guide us through the journey we are on. Tune in to learn more!

    Key Highlights

    • It's normal and expected to enjoy ourselves during the holidays and binge on our favorite foods; we shouldn't feel guilty about it;
    • Goals for the New Year can be started today and if you don't have the initiative to do it by yourself, you can always count on someone to hold you accountable;
