    Ro vs. Boz — A CrossFit Open Rivalry For the Ages Feb 19, 2024

    Live head-to-head battles in the CrossFit Open began in 2013 with Dan Bailey and Scott Panchik facing off in Open Workout 13.1.
    Since then, the CrossFit community has witnessed a wealth of epic Open matchups:
    —A throwdown of CrossFit Games champions in Open Workout 14.5.
    —Rich Froning vs. Mat Fraser in 15.1.
    —A battle of the Dottirs in 18.5.

    Caroline Lambray — Coaching Everyday CrossFit Athletes and the Fittest Man on Earth Feb 15, 2024

    “I’ve always wanted to change the world. … Sitting at the end of those 48 hours (at the Level 1), I was like, ‘This is how you change the world.’”
    CrossFit Wonderland affiliate owner and Certified CrossFit Trainer (CF-L4) Caroline Lambray joins host Adrian Conway on the “More Than Fitness” podcast to share her story about becoming a CrossFit gym owner, changing lives, and coaching CrossFit Games champion Jeff Adler.
    In 2023, Lambray became the first female coach to lead an athlete to the title of Fittest on Earth, coaching Adler — a five-time Games athlete — to his first championship. But when she first started CrossFit and took her Level 1, she thought her career would go in a different direction.In today’s episode, Lambray dives into her passion for changing lives through CrossFit and its methodology. She details her experience coaching in other gyms, discusses her dream to be on the Seminar Staff, and expands on her desire to help people own their health journeys to be independent later in life.
    Lambray opens up about meeting Adler, seeing his potential as an athlete, and becoming his coach. She explains how communication and asking questions strengthen their coach-athlete relationship, and shares the highs and lows of their CrossFit journey, leading up to his 2023 title.

    What’s New in the 2024 CrossFit Open With Adrian Bozman Jan 30, 2024

    “No, we're not going to do an equipment list this year. But I will say and I think I already have made it pretty clear that, like, we are very committed to using an equipment profile, that's, you know, it's pretty vanilla.”
    CrossFit Competition Director Adrian Bozman joins host Chase Ingraham on today’s episode to discuss all things 2024 CrossFit Open, including simple changes to past requirements, balancing programming, and regional exemptions.
    The CrossFit Open began in 2011. It was CrossFit’s first online competition. Since then, the first stage of the CrossFit Games season has evolved into a three-week global competition, uniting hundreds of thousands of people for fun and friendly competition.
    In today’s episode, Boz shares changes to the 2024 Open, highlighting easier-to-read scorecards, the elimination of rigid floor plans, and easier access to equipment. He also describes the challenges and nuances of balancing the programming for the Quarterfinals stage, and the differences between advancing your fitness and testing your fitness.
    For those applying for regional exemptions ahead of the start of the Open, Boz explains the qualification process at length and urges athletes to apply before the deadline — Feb. 1.

    Bethany Flores — Identity, Scaling, and Growth in Life and CrossFit Nov 10, 2023

    “This year, I had to commit to a different way of thinking and training with a lot of uncertainty before seeing the fruits of my labor. It was very, very scary the way I had to train this year because I went into the season not even knowing if I was going to compete at all.”
    Six-time CrossFit Games athlete Bethany Shadburne Flores joins the show to share her story of growth, finding self-confidence, working through injuries, and advocating for herself in and outside of the CrossFit gym.
    Flores grew up as a gymnast and has competed in bodybuilding competitions, triathlons, half-marathons, and obstacle courses. She started CrossFit in 2015 and qualified for her first CrossFit Games in 2017. Most recently, Flores competed at the 2023 CrossFit Games after missing out on the 2022 season due to a back injury.
    Over the years, Flores has experienced limitations both physically and mentally that forced her to make changes, adjust her training, and grow as a person and an athlete.
    In today’s episode, Flores describes different injuries and setbacks she’s experienced throughout her athletic career, both physically and mentally. She opens up about the work she’s done to trust herself and the process, finding her identity outside of being an athlete, and adapting her training to fit her daily needs.
    Flores dives into listening to your body and the importance of scaling workouts as needed to create longevity in CrossFit as a sport and a lifestyle.
    Throughout the episode, Flores also talks about balancing her career as an athlete and her husband Randy’s career as a strength and conditioning coach for the Los Angeles Lakers, dealing with insecurities, and competing at the Rogue Invitational.

    Legends Championship to Host Finale for Masters in 2024 Oct 24, 2023

    CrossFit recently announced three new partnerships that will help grow the CrossFit Games championship competition and create new opportunities to shine a spotlight on athletes across all divisions.
    WheelWOD Games, Pit Teen Throwdown, and Legends Championship will host the adaptive and age-group championships for the 2024 CrossFit Games season. The change will dramatically increase the number of masters and teenage athletes competing in the finals, nearly double the number of divisions for adaptive athletes, and provide a chance for CrossFit to evolve its competition model to make the CrossFit Games internationally scalable in the future.
    The Legends Championship has been one of the premier events for masters athletes for years. Founders Bob Jennings and Joe Linton have been providing a world class experience and opportunity for masters athletes all over the world. Next year, they will host the championship event for the masters divisions for the 2024 CrossFit Games season.
