Something that was cut from our Dan Fry episode: here is a delightful bit from We Come in Peace! A Martian Lands in Austria.

I found this excerpt in an article from the BSRA.

So. There's been a clamoring for an episode about Contactee Daniel Fry for a long time. This is it. In the episode I go into a bit of detail about why it's taken me so long to get around to him, but one of the main reasons is that there is so much available information that it's a bit daunting (see the link below to get an idea). Hope you enjoy it!

Here's the section on Bill Cooper's interpretation of the "War of the Worlds" broadcast that I decided just didn't fit with the Radio Daze episode. Enjoy (as much as possible with Wild Bill!)

Radio! It use to be a thing--ask your folks, kids! Since the beginning of the flying saucer phenomenon, there have been radio programs dedicated to the subject. While there were several high profile "specials," about the topic this episode focuses on the long running radio series that focused--at least in part--on UFOs, usually as part of a larger focus on the paranormal or conspiratorial topics.

The Saucer Afterlife: Lights, Camera, August Roberts? Feb 12, 2020

Episode Notes

Speaking of interesting but fundamentally dull flying saucer films, in this installment of The Saucer Afterlife, I spend a few minutes on The Flying Saucer Mystery. This is a 1952 short film (which is actually an extended version of one that came out in 1950) that features August Roberts (for 4 seconds), Frank Scully (who seems like a hoot), and Donald Keyhoe (who is whatever the opposite of a hoot might be).

You can watch this film on YouTube. Or, for $0.99, you can watch it while the guys at Rifftrax (Mike Nelson, Kevin Murphy, and Bill Corbett from the old MST3K) make fun of it.

Also, check out the Saucers that Time Forgot web site, which has in-depth overviews of both the 1950 and 1952 editions.

I would bet good money that most of you have not read 1978's The UFO Guidebook by Briazack and Mennick. It's one of the hidden gems of UFO literature, boasting a very even-handed array of definitions and summaries in an encyclopedia style.

But that's not the biggest reason I love it. Thanks for listening, and keep your eyes out for befaps, my fellow

In this episode, we're looking at "The Controllers"--an essay/white paper written by Martin Cannon in the early 90s. It concerns the possible connections between government mind control experimentation and the alien abduction phenomenon. I've linked to lots of stuff below, so be sure to check it out if this is a strand of the--broadly construed--"alien" "encounter" mystery that you find interesting.

Me, I find it terrifying.
