You’re building your business, you’re scaling, and seeing results - it’s time to stop doing it all yourself and build a team! That said, whom you hire as your team member can have a massive impact on your business. So today, Andresa will break down what you should consider before hiring that person. How do you know if they’re the right fit? How do you find out who they are outside of work? Oh, how about getting your team members trained?! All this and more in today’s episode. When you’re thinking of jumping into the market, you tend to hear all the voices saying, “you have to do this first,” or, “No, if you do that, it won’t work.” Today’s guest is going to obliterate those fears and help you start seeing things from a new angle - your angle! Kaydee Smith Myers is a real estate attorney and investor who has owned long-term rentals for over ten years now. She holds seven doors in her hometown of Omaha, Nebraska. After stepping back from her legal career, Kaydee put her law degree to use in real estate investing. Her goal is to match her law firm salary with the cash flow from her investments by focusing on historic, “walkable” neighborhoods. With all her hard work and experience, she’s here to dispel some of the biggest misconceptions about jumping into the market. It's not always about the big wins; sometimes, the best lessons we learn are the ones we learn from our biggest mistakes! In this episode, Liz gets transparent and pulls from her story of how she and her husband got in and out of debt. She'll give us the lessons she learned along the way: how to leverage debt correctly, good debt versus bad debt, and the importance of building out your exit plan! When you're in this business, people trust you to manage both your money and your investors' money. Slowing Down to Speed Up with Julie Holly Jan 21, 2022

To grow, as so many of us want to do, you have to slow down and get connected to what's important to you. Let’s explore this important concept with today's guest Julie Holly. Starting in single-family homes and house-hacking before it had a name, she managed properties from 1k miles away and currently invests passively in nearly 300 doors. In this episode, Liz and Andresa dig deep into Julie's experience as an educator, her ability to relate with people, and how she's helping people reframe the belief of having to go "full steam ahead" and, instead, stopping until you become the kind of person you want to be. What markets should you get involved in? What are the best markets to move to? While these are valid questions, it’s time to challenge our thinking a bit. Liz and Andressa start the episode by flipping these questions around. Where are you investing right now? How many markets are you in? It’s not so much about getting to the newest, hottest market; it’s about you. The power lies in where you decide to put your entire focus. Liz will talk about why focusing on one area is so essential and break down how this strategy helped her scale and even break into other markets. Locker room talk isn’t just a woman’s problem, it is everyone’s problem. Andresa and Liz discuss the negative effects of locker room talks, and how having empathy and taking responsibility can help shut down misogynistic conversations at the workplace.
