Hala Taha: Podcasting Journey & Innovation Dec 16, 2019
    Show notes

Collaboration over competition. Be open and humble enough to being inspired from others that may be half your age. All things that I say in relation to guest today Hala Taha, host of the popular #youngandprofiting podcast. Quick 101 for those I am introducing her to for the first time- Her day job, Lifecycle Marketing Ops & Growth Platform Manager at Disney Streaming Services. Her passion - host of one of the fastest growing podcasts, YAP- Young and Profiiting. Some other fun facts- Hala started her career in radio at Hot 97 here in NYC as Angie Martinez’ assistant. She also launched her own successful blog “The Sorority of Hip Hop” that MTV scouted and almost launched a reality show that I believe she was set to star in. Hala landed on my radar b/c of branding, marketing and tenacity were ever present on LinkedIN. I checked out a couple episodes of her show and I knew we had to connect and have her on to share her story and insights with my tribe.

Jason Wang: Entrepreneurship & Second Chances Dec 11, 2019
    Show notes

Super pumped to introduce my guest today Jason Wang. I first met Jason about a year ago through my work with Defy Ventures. And for those who do not know, Defy is an in-prison program where incarcerated men and women take part in a University-accredited program on well-being, entrepreneurship training, personal development, mentoring, business incubation, financing opportunities, and network development. We will get more to that story in a bit. Jason is a born entrepreneur. At the age of 8, he would buy a box of 300 fortune cookies from his dad’s restaurant for $7 and sell them at school for .25 cents each. He quickly became the “Fortune Cookie King” to his fellow classmates. At the age of 13, he started another business that generated over $100k in revenue with 95% profit margins. Unfortunately, this business was illegal. Oh, and his teammates were his fellow gang members. Jason was finally caught at the age of 15 for a first degree felony and was sent to prison on a 12 year sentence. Since his release, he has earned a double masters (MBA, MS International Business), worked as a management consultant, and started several other ventures. Today, Jason is the Founder and CEO of FreeWorld. And he is here today to share his incredible story of perseverance and personal growth.

Zack Scriven: Being an Influencer Dec 07, 2019
    Show notes

My guest on E40 of #thepozcast Zack Scriven is a self-proclaimed #influencer. A title he takes a lot of pride in but also gets a lot of criticism for as well. Either way he owns it and does his best to embody the title. But Zack is a lot more than that. He quit his lucrative job in Industrial Automation Engineering to pursue content creation full time. He is the host of The Zack Scriven Podcast who graciously had me on about a year ago to share my story. He was one of the first that opened up his show for me and I greatly appreciate that. He is also a highly technically and creatively skilled content creator and founder of Zack Scriven Media- another aspect I admire about him as he constantly innovates and shares his learnings with his tribe. His content is focused around Digital Transformation, featuring both clients within his past industry and others. As well, he has recently completed a 30 day road trip that he documented that we will talk about. His goal is to serve God in all things he does. Today, Zack regularly travels all over the U.S and worldwide. attending LinkedIn Local Networking Events. He has been sponsored by several brands to speak at conferences in Las Vegas, Dallas, Dubai and South Africa. Zack Scriven looks forward to continuing this exciting journey—leading the charge in Digital Transformation. Join us as we dig into his career journey, thought leadership on content creation, #linkedin and a ton more. Thanks for coming along for the ride!

    Show notes

On this our 39th episode, we are going to have some real talk around how to be a successful recruiter, how to hire them and how to build a thriving recruitment business. My guest today, Joe Mullings is the President & CEO of The Mullings Group Companies and TrueFuture TV, is content company. Joe has been building companies and careers since the 1980’s. He has built the world's leading search firm in the medical device industry with clients like Google, Johnson & Johnson, Abbott Laboratories as well as the emerging technology startups. He is also President & CEO of DragonFly Stories which is a media company that is the production company behind the docu-series TrueFuture as well as the media platform of TMGPulse, a medtech news and opinion website. Joe is serious about physical fitness and MMA and he has also founded The Armory, at the time one of the larger Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Mixed Martial Arts teams with multiple fighters in the UFC and world class Brazilian Jiu Jitsu competitors. Long story short, Joe is not the type of guy you mess with on any front. I’ve been admiring and learning from Joe from afar and I had my first convo w/ him back last Dec. I’ll be honest, my first impression was that this guy is a bit too tough, but after we really started talking shop and life, I knew this guy was someone for me to connect with further and learn from. I am thrilled to have him on the show today, so let's get to it.
