Eric heads up Special Services Group, one of the top event production & coordination groups in the country. Eric is the first call for some of the biggest promoters in entertainment & public events, a seasoned event producer: everything from audio, lighting, tour management. He's worked from New York to Los Angeles and everywhere in-between. Some of the acts he's worked with include Eddie Murphy, REO Speedwagon, Blood, Sweat & Tears, Wilson Phillips, Foreigner and even heads of states. It's a humorous behind the scenes look at a man who keeps the show going on.

    Matthew Kopperud of the band Close Talker checks in on The Paul Leslie Hour. Indie rock band Close Talker has toured internationally to great audience reaction. Based in Saskatoon, Canada their newest album "How Do We Stay Here?" NPR, Billboard, Clash, Spin and Q Magazine are a few of the media outlets to heap generous praise on the band. Matt is the guitarist with Close Talker and made time to call in prior to their European tour next month. He talks about the new record, the band's influences and their innovation. Close Talker was the first North American band to premier a "3D - 350 Degree Silent Headphone Concert Series. The band performed the newest album from beginning to end to a seated audience wearing headphones in order to hear so-called "3D" mixing. Matthew Kopperud gives the skinny on the band in this soothing interview.

    A road trip to Asheville, North Carolina resulted in this backstage interview with Rodney Crowell before his concert at the Diana Wortham Theatre. Rodney Crowell is a real storyteller - a great singer and songwriter with more than 40 years in the music business. He has released 17 studio albums, his newest record is an homage to his Lone Star roots and is simply called "Texas." The record features such guests as Lee Ann Womack, Vince Gill, Willie Nelson, Lyle Lovett, Ringo Starr, Billy Gibbons and others. Crowell is a 2-time Grammy award-winner. Some of the recording artists who have recorded Rodney Crowell's songs include Alan Jackson, Tim McGraw, Bob Seger, Jimmy Buffett, John Denver, Etta James and George Strait. Crowell is inductee of the Texas Country Music Hall of Fame and the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame. It was a great honor to welcome Rodney Crowell on The Paul Leslie Hour. It was a long time coming!

    Jazz star Joe Gransden came to There, a Bar and Eatery in Atlanta, Georgia for an episode of The Paul Leslie Hour. Joe Gransden is one of the most talented creators in jazz. A bandleader, trumpeter, vocalist, and sometimes actor. As a live entertainer, instrumentalist and recording artist he is second to none.

    After Paul had some tasty food, Gransden arrived with a beautiful trumpet in hand. He ordered a scotch at the bar and took his seat. You'll find Joe to be an unassuming, charming guy. You get to meet him right here on The Paul Leslie Hour. You'll be very glad you did.

    Hit songwriter and educator Bruce Burch, a native of Gainesville, Georgia is the writer of songs recorded by the likes of George Jones, Billy Joe Royal, Reba McEntire, Wayne Newton and many others. Songwriter Bruce Burch is also known in the world of academia, he was the Executive in Residence of the Music, Sports and Entertainment program at Brenau University in Gainesville, Georgia. His other passion is the John Jarrard Foundation, where Burch serves as a director. The John Jarrard Foundation is an organization that supports songwriters and a number of great causes.

    This interview was recorded outside a few years back and was then broadcast on FM radio. In support of The John Jarrard Foundation's 18th Annual Concert on September 28th at 6:00 P.M. at the Brenau University Front Lawn. It's a great interview with the writer of some truly brilliant songs and it's right here on The Paul Leslie Hour.

    Documentary filmmaker Ken Burns is an American treasure. He's directed and produced some of the most acclaimed documentaries covering everything from baseball to jazz and most recently the world of country music. Entitled "Country Music," the film is an 8-part miniseries currently airing on PBS. Along with archival footage, the film features new interviews with Willie Nelson, Garth Brooks, Marty Stuart, Charley Pride, Merle Haggard, Tom T. Hall, Trisha Yearwood, Loretta Lynn more than 100 in all. In this interview, we get to the heart of Ken's new documentary. It's a relaxed, but introspective look.     B. Earl Sinks is a singer, songwriter and producer born and based in Tennessee. His birth name is Brandon Earl Sinks and he is the son of Henry Earl Sinks and Rita Faye Sinks (Wilson). Both sides of his family have strong musical roots, and B. Earl Sinks writes and sings in a very traditional style. His father Earl Sinks was a celebrated singer-songwriter and actor who was the lead singer of The Crickets for a time. Some of the artists who have recorded the songs of B. Earl Sinks include Wayne Toups, Clinton Gregory, Kathy Louvin, Jimmy Griffin, Sonny Marshall and others.

    B. Earl Sinks is a man who comes from a line of music people. It's great to meet someone so true to the art of music. He's right here on The Paul Leslie Hour.

    Known and trusted by some of the greatest musicians of our time, Gene Dunlap is one of those guys who can plain do it all. A multi-instrumentalist, he's played piano, saxophone, guitar, drums, bass and in the past the fiddle. He was the bandleader for country music icon Loretta Lynn for more than 30 years. As a songwriter he's had cuts by everyone from Loretta Lynn and Mel Tillis to Engelbert Humpedinck.
