S4 E16: Just Sim It
Show Notes
The search for a new Athletic Director is underway and the rumors are flying…about who the next Head Coach will be. It’s weird, poor Manny still has the gig and meanwhile Lane’s people are putting out word through Nevin Shapiro that he’d be game to come down here if the job opens up. Mario Cristobal is the other big name, the leading name for most of us.
We also address the folks within the admin who have decided to call bullshit on our report that Blake and Julio had a heated exchange weeks back. Seriously, to whoever in the Athletic Dept told Manny it was false, you’re a flat-out liar. Fact.
Meanwhile it’s Va Tech week! You know how in Madden you can just sim to the offseason? That’s pretty much where we are at this point.

The University of Miami and Director of Athletics Blake James today mutually agreed to part ways. James’ 17 years at the University—including eight as athletics director—were marked by class and integrity. He served in several ACC and NCAA leadership roles and earned national recognition from his peers during his time with the Hurricanes.
A national search for the University’s next athletics director will begin immediately.
“It has been an honor to lead Miami athletics and to be a part of such a world-class institution,” said James. “I am proud of the work that we have done together, though I know there is still more yet to be achieved. I want to thank our University leadership, our athletics staff, our coaches, and especially our incredible student-athletes for their commitment to excellence and for believing in what the University of Miami can accomplish. I wish the Canes nothing but the best and look forward to my next endeavors.”
During James’ tenure as athletics director, which began in 2013, Miami student-athletes and teams captured five NCAA individual championships, six ACC team titles, and 71 individual ACC titles. The Spring 2021 semester marked the 15th consecutive semester in which Miami student-athletes averaged a 3.0 or higher cumulative GPA and the University’s most recent NCAA Graduation Success Rate was 94 percent. In addition, Miami has made significant facility enhancements, including the $40 million Carol Soffer Indoor Practice Facility, the Jimmy and Kim Klotz Baseball Player Development Center, and the Schwartz Center for Athletic Excellence.
Guess you should’ve given Ro his shoes…Oh well.

Week 10 Recap vs GaTech
Show Notes
The Miami Hurricanes had zero business winning on Saturday. They turned the ball over 3 times, left points on the field, and shot themselves in the foot countless times. Despite all of that,, the KIDS WON AGAIN! A 33-30 nail biter that at times felt like a dental visit. Tyler Van Dyke, or TVDinner, threw for 389 and 3 scores and should’ve had over 450 if not for 7 dropped passes to WR’s. The defense was leaky, but stood up in the 4th quarter for the second straight week. Canes are 5-4 and have won 3 straight as we head into Hate Week. Let’s Go Canes!

The mood has changed. There is optimism about the second half of this season. Can we win out? Win the Coastal? Could we go 10-4?!? Who knows, time will tell. We all agree things look good for us versus Ga Tech this tomorrow. You might be slightly surprised to hear our TVD stat predictions as he faces the second worst secondary in the ACC.
We had plenty of love for our boy, Beatin the Bookie. Dude is killing it. If you want to make extra cash, you need to listen up and check him out. Scoop is killing it with him! We do our picks and give our score predictions. Let’s Go Canes!

Week 9 Recap vs PITT
Show Notes
Safe to say, the Miracle Baby has arrived! We mocked Manny when he made the analogy that this season was the labor pains and soon, we’d receive the miracle of a birth, or turnaround of the season. And we mocked it rightfully so, as it was idiotic. However, it actually seems like it may be happening! We just knocked off NCST and PITT in successive weeks. Our chances for a Coastal Crown are still alive and one Pitt and UVA loss away from becoming a reality. Does a 6-game win streak that follows a 2-4 start enough for Manny to keep his gig? And we haven’t even started on TVD or X yet!
