In August of 2018, in a wealthy Denver suburb, a shocked and horrified nation learned that Christopher Lee Watts had murdered his pregnant wife, their two little girls and their unborn son.
But shock was soon replaced by puzzlement. Why?
And the surprising answer is that a standard Anadarko Petroleum employee policy led, unintentionally of course, to the murders.
By early 2018, the Watts family finances were beyond dire again after a recent shattering bankruptcy, then Chris Watts’ employer, Anardarko Petroleum, offered him a life insurance policy on the lives of his wife, Shan’ann, and his very young daughters, Bella and CeCe, for a total of $450,000.
Wouldn’t that get him out of a spot?
After that, Shan’ann’s days were numbered, preferably via a perceived oxycontin overdose.
Well, Chris Watts tried that twice and failed. Then he decided to go for the jackpot. Shan’ann would ‘murder’ the girls, and would then disappear. Nobody was going to find her body in the Cervi 19 oil storage tanks. He would collect on the girls immediately and then get the rest when Shan’ann was legally declared dead.
It was an excellent plan, to be carried out by a complete moron.
On the night of Sunday August 12, 2018, two things went catastrophically wrong, leaving Chris Watts to dispose of three bodies, not one, and facing a nail-biting time crunch.
Then a friend of Shan’ann’s called in the cops on the morning of Monday August 13, and it was game over.
But, for some, that’s when the party started.

Why have historians treated the assassination of JFK as if it occurred in a vacuum?
Within twenty-six months of John F. Kennedy’s murder, there were fifteen attempted assassinations and government overthrows of leftist leaders and regimes throughout the world. All were perpetrated by right-wing anti-Communists.
A right-wing, anti-Communist movement emerged with the election of Franklin Roosevelt and grew with each passing decade. It consisted of military, intelligence members, and business leaders who looked to change America's progressive direction. The military even resorted to treason, as many believed their duty was to obey the Constitution, not the President. They later turned their sights on JFK.
During the 1950s, the civil rights movement threatened an American way of life the right-wing wanted to preserve. It brought racist anti-Communist groups in Dallas and New Orleans together with ex-military generals, business leaders, and white nationalists with one goal in mind - overthrow the US government.
One of their members? A young Lee Harvey Oswald.
In It Did Not Start with JFK, author and researcher Walter Herbst examines the decades before Kennedy’s presidency and how understanding the “why” behind this right-wing group’s interest in removing Kennedy from power is the key to unraveling the assassination riddle. And once "why" is understood, who was responsible becomes clear.

uly 18, 2022 Greg Palast and his investigations team bust the most brazen, racist attack on voting rights yet — engineered by Georgia’s Brian Kemp to ensure victory in his rematch with Stacey Abrams. You’ll meet Kemp’s army of vigilante vote challengers — one who dresses up like Old-West vigilante Doc Holliday and is fully armed.
Weird and funny — but no joke. “Doc Holliday,” has challenged the right to vote of 4,000 Georgians of color, targeting Black soldiers. He’s also a Republican Party chairman in Georgia. The secretive vigilante posse has targeted hundreds of thousands of Georgians.
And you’ll meet “Doc’s” voter targets and the heroes of the fight in Georgia for rights we assumed had been won decades ago. Featuring LaTosha Brown, co-founder of Black Voters Matter… and a host of Confederate “reenactors” waiting for next insurrection, the film busts open the secret source of Brian Kemp’s ancestral wealth and power: slavery.
He talks to Ed Opperman about his work, his ongoing projects and the consequences of voter suppression.
This Greg Palast's most important investigation ever

Why were the sordid deeds of Jeffery Epstein concealed for two decades?
Why was inquiry into the origins of the coronavirus suppressed? Why are
social media sites censoring scientists and doctors?
Through dozens of utterly absorbing exposés, Red, White & Blind reveals
the corporate media's deliberate lies, tendentious censorship, and ironic
use of the term disinformation. This deceit has driven faith in corporate
news to all-time lows, but it has also birthed an independent media
revolution―a New Enlightenment―enabling Americans to see through
the walls of "confirmation bias" and perceive the world more directly and
accurately than ever before.
Join the journey and learn:
• How the Father of Propaganda convinced Americans to love bananas,
World War I, and the color green.
• Why the notion of "objective, professional journalism" was invented in
the early 1900s.
• How the CIA placed agents in the media and why they likely still do.
• How to understand family and friends with any set of political views.
• Why today's social media censorship violates the First Amendment.
• Why "fact-checking" websites almost always fail.
