Ed Opperman talks of the Jerry Falwell jnr and R. Kelly cases
Ed Opperman talks about the R.Kelly case, and his involvement in the events which have lead to his recent incarceration.
Going back to just after the turn of the century, Ed was shocked by the 2002 release of a ‘sex tape’. It lead to an investigation. But this wasn’t the first involvement with the R. Kelly case. He’d be ahead of the crowd since 2001, and done similar work in the mid 1990s which lead to the recommendation to gather evidence in the Kelly controversy.
The story includes the alarming implication that apartment buildings inhabited by the rich and famous, are almost fortresses to protect those people from the law, should those people be up to nefarious activities. The building R.Kelly lived in, the building which was raided on the grounds that a resident may have been holding people (children) there against their will, was Trump Tower.
Ed also speaks of Jerry Falwell Jnr.
Jerry Falwell Jnr endorsed Donald Trump when he ran for President. It was a bizarre choice but later rumour surfaced about Falwell jnr’s dubious investment in a hostel which was set up in a very peculiar way. For an Evangelical Preacher it was a ‘strange’ choice. Then came the pool guy...

Douglas Valentine - CIA - Pheonix Program
Douglas Valentine joins Ed Opperman to discuss the CIA and in particular the Pheonix Program. The Phoenix Program for the unacquainted was a CIA generated operation that sponsored mass arrests, terrorism, torture, murder and lies during the war in Vietnam. Many of the players went on to walk the halls of the Pentagon, Congress, the Department of Homeland Security, and major National Security Corporations.
As no other writer, Doug Valentine has been to the heart of darkness in American foreign policy and come back with stories of historic moment. His brilliant, courageous work is revelation, prophecy, wisdom. It will stand as a singular mark of our saving capacity to learn.

Mary Knight – Am I Crazy?
Ed is joined by Mary Knight who talks about her 2017 film, ‘Am I Crazy?’, the harrowing story behind it and the updates with new information to the project.
When Mary Knight confided in someone close about her experiences of being abused as a child, she was met with a less than supportive response; this disbelief in her story affected her badly, but she started to consider whether her own recollections were true.
Slowly, and painfully she went through the process of recovering her memories, but it also forged a desire to help other survivors who faced the same reaction. Were her memories accurate or was she suffering from ‘False Memory Syndrome’?
‘Am I Crazy’ is a documentary of a true life journey and features interviews with Dr. Loftus, Dr. van der Kolk, Former Miss America Van Derbur about childhood trauma.
Also keep an eye out for her book, Becoming Mrs. Brown: Essays by a Child Sex Trafficking Survivor.

Patrick Knowlton - The scandal of Brett Kavanaugh
When Brett Kavanaugh was nominated by the Trump administration in 2018, there were the much needed checks and balances; the results were a slew of accusations at Kavanaugh of impropriety at various stages of his life, resulting in the televised interviews which he fought his case on the premise 'I like beer'.
But the accusations which made headlines were only the tip of a rather unpleasant iceberg.
Patrick Knowlton looked into Kavanaugh's history, gathered stories from friends and colleagues (those who would cooperate) and former peers during his college days.
It was accepted that Kavanaugh's appointment alone tilted the balance of the Supreme Court to the right, but what people found hard to justify was the sheer volume and potential seriousness of the rumours surrounding the proposed Supreme Court Judge.
    From 2018.

    T.H. Johnson – Geronimo Pratt Jun 28, 2023
    Show notes

Ed welcomes film maker and researcher T.H.Johnson to discuss the story of Geronimo Pratt.
Geronimo Pratt was a military veteran and a high-ranking member of the Black Panther Party in the United States in the late 1960s and early 1970s.
A decorated soldier, having served in Vietnam, he moved on to study at UCLA in Los Angeles under the GI Bill. Around the same time he joined the Black Panther Party. However, he became a person of interest to the FBI in their COINTELPRO operation; the aim of which was to “neutralise Pratt as an effective BPP functionary”. This led to Pratt being incarcerated for 27 years four years after he allegedly murdered Caroline Olsen in 1968. Seven of those years were spent alone in solitary confinement. His freedom was secured in 1997 with the vacation of his conviction due to the withholding of key evidence by the prosecution. Despite appeals, the vanquishing of charges was upheld after appeal.
He spent much of the rest of his life as a human rights campaigner and activist until his death in 2011.
T.H.Johnson is a researcher of note, with some truly quality work under his belt. His other projects include deep-dive films and books into the O.J. Simpson case and controversy.

    S. Brian Willson – Blood on the Tracks
After serving in the Vietnam War, S. Brian Willson became a radical, nonviolent peace protester and pacifist, and this memoir details the drastic governmental and social change he has spent his life fighting for.
He talks to Ed Opperman about his personal struggle with a government he believes to be unjust, shedding light on the various incarnations of his protests of the U.S. government, including the refusal to pay taxes, public fasting, and, most famously, public obstruction.
On September 1, 1987, Willson was run over by a munitions train during a nonviolent blocking action in which he expected to be removed from the tracks. Providing a full look into the tragic event, Willson, who lost his legs in the incident, discusses how the subsequent publicity propelled his cause toward the national consciousness. Now, 23 years later, Willson tells his story of social injustice, nonviolent struggle, and the so-called American way of life.

Henry Vinson – Confessions of a D.C. Madame.
The area around Washington DC and particularly close to the corridors of power contain the highest density of escort and prostitution services in the world. They are also some of the most expensive and cater for every taste and fetish.
The book highlights how those in power are easily compromised, either through arrogance or indulgence; how our society has an undercurrent at the highest levels of hypocrisy and perversions, and how crime, sex and politics have become almost eternally intertwined.
Book Confessions of a D.C. Madame
    Book Description (From Amazon)
A firsthand account of how public officials and other well-connected individuals have been compromised or blackmailed by their sexual improprieties, Confessions of a D.C. Madame relates the author’s time running the largest gay escort service in Washington, DC, and his interactions with VIPs from government, business, and the media who solicited the escorts he employed. The book details the federal government’s pernicious campaign waged against the author to ensure his silence and how he withstood relentless, fabricated attacks by the government, which included incarceration rooted in trumped up charges and outright lies.

    Aisling Creegan- I am Someone
Ed’s guest tonight is Aisling Creegan. Aisling had a traumatic childhood, with abuse and violence being commonplace. Too many people go through this and the memories become entrenched, souring their personalities and often dooming them to failure professionally and personally.
    From Amazon:
Aisling Creegan’s childhood was dominated by an abusive, alcoholic mother, who tortured her at every turn. From insults and beatings to being threatened with a butcher’s knife, Aisling endured unthinkable suffering at the hands of the woman who should have loved her unconditionally. Yet, in the midst of this trauma, Aisling relied on the one person she knew she could trust – herself.
Possessed of an incredible imagination and remarkable resilience, Aisling found escape in the little things in life. Her power to imagine an alternative world enabled her to hold on and make it to adolescence and the freedom she had longed for since childhood. But the scars of the past take time to heal, and when Aisling suffered a breakdown it took her on a surprising path to freedom – and forgiveness.
I Am Someone is an extraordinary memoir about female cruelty and – ultimately – female strength and endurance.

Ed’s guest is Anneke Lucas, who has had a traumatic yet ultimately inspiring life. She has ascended from the terrible abuse she suffered as a child to become an icon; a model, writer and a speaker for child trafficking victims and survivors.
She has done this through years of therapy, but also through yoga, meditation and writing, developed by herself during over a decade of supporting and campaigning for victims both inside the prison system and in the wider world.
She has developed a way of being; a healing and coping mechanism she calls ‘The Unconditional Model’, which she believes not only helps those survivors plagued by trauma and flashbacks, but also can be beneficial to society as a whole.
