"Juror #2" Nov 02, 2024

Show notes

For this week's main podcast review, I am joined by Josh Parham, Dan Bayer & Daniel Howat to review and discuss Clint Eastwood's latest film "Juror #2," starring Nicholas Hoult, Toni Collette, J. K. Simmons, Chris Messina, Zoey Deutch, Cedric Yarbrough & Kiefer Sutherland. The film had its world premiere at the 2024 AFI Fest last week, where it received solid reviews, but is being unceremoniously dumped in less than 50 theaters by Warner Bros. So what gives? Is this as bad as the studio is making it out to be, or is something else happening here? Tune in as we discuss the acting, writing, direction, awards season chances, and more in our SPOILER-FILLED review. Thank you for listening, and enjoy!

Show notes

THIS IS A PREVIEW PODCAST. NOT THE FULL REVIEW. Please check out the full podcast review on our Patreon Page by subscribing over at - https://www.patreon.com/NextBestPicture

Happy Halloween, dear NBP listeners!! With the previous release of Francis Ford Coppola's "Megalopolis," and the upcoming release of Robert Eggers's "Nosferatu," we decided to take a look at Francis Ford Coppola's own vampire film, his adaptation of the classic "Bram Stoker's Dracula" from 1992 starring Gary Oldman, Winona Ryder, Anthony Hopkins, Keanu Reeves, Richard E. Grant, Cary Elwes, Billy Campbell, Sadie Frost & Tom Waits. Both hailed and critically scrutinized for its overblown visual aesthetic, style, and performances, time has been incredibly well to this take on the sexy, gothic vampire story. What did we think of it? Tune in as Lauren LaMagna, Cody Dericks, Dan Bayer, Brendan Hodges, and I share our thoughts on the cinematography, editing, costumes, score, performances, writing, its awards season run, and more in our SPOILER-FILLED review. Thank you for all your support, and enjoy!

Ruizpalacios was kind enough to spend some time talking with us about his experience working on the film. Please be sure to check out the film, which is now playing in theaters in NY from WILLA and will expand to LA on November 1st. Thank you, and enjoy!
