Interviews With The Cast & Director Of "The Piano Lesson" Nov 09, 2024

Show notes

"The Piano Lesson" had its world premiere at the 2024 Telluride Film Festival, where it received positive reviews for the performances from its cast and for Malcolm Washington's adaptation of August Wilson's 1987 play to the screen, making his directorial debut in terrific fashion. Malcolm Washington, along with his brother John David Washington, Danielle Deadwyler, Ray Fisher, Samuel L. Jackson, and Michael Potts, were all nice enough to spend some time with me talking about bringing the play to the big (or small if you're watching it at home on Netflix) screen. Please be sure to check out the film, which is now playing in select theaters and will be available to stream on Netflix on November 22nd. The film is up for your consideration in all eligible categories at the 97th Academy Awards. Thank you, and enjoy!
