Show notes
Our 2011 retrospective continues this summer with Alexander Payne's "The Descendants," starring George Clooney, Shailene Woodley, Amara Miller, Beau Bridges, Nick Krause, Judy Greer, Matthew Lillard & Robert Forster. Serving as Payne's follow-up to his Oscar-winning "Sideways," it proved he was an Academy darling as the film received five Oscar nominations and won Best Adapted Screenplay, Payne's second. Did it deserve its accolades then, and how do we feel about it now? Join Isaiah Washington, Patreon guests Danny Jarabek, Cheyne Nomura (a Hawaiian native), and me as we discuss the performances, setting, story, editing, awards season run, and more as fireworks boom in the background during our Fourth Of July holiday recording (Also, apologies, but I didn't have my normal microphone setup so the audio may be a bit lackluster for this review). Thank you for all your support, and enjoy! Also, be sure to check out our other 2011 retrospective reviews for "War Horse," "The Help," "The Iron Lady," "Midnight In Paris," "The Tree Of Life," "Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close," & "Moneyball."
