Interview With "Nyad" Star Annette Bening Jan 05, 2024

Show notes

"Nyad" had its world premiere at the 2023 Telluride Film Festival, where its leading star, Annette Bening, was meant to receive a tribute award for her career and performance (she will receive this honor tomorrow). It garnered solid reviews for her work as the world-renowned swimmer Diana Nyad, whose 2013 attempt to swim the Straits of Florida at the age of 64 is a record that still gets talked about today. Bening, who is nominated for a Golden Globe Award for her performance, was kind enough to spend some time talking with us about her work on the film, collaborating with her co-star Jodie Foster, all the prosthetics she had to wear, the training she put her body through and more. Please be sure to check out the film, which is now streaming on Netflix and is up for your consideration at the 96th Academy Awards in all eligible categories, including Best Actress. Thank you, and enjoy!
