Ryan Frederick is a founder and product person at heart. He has had the privilege of being part of starting/growing several software and service companies. Currently, he leads an elite team of 70 product creators and data problem solvers at AWH. As an active angel investor, Ryan mentors and advises entrepreneurs and startups, as well as corporate innovation leaders. He launched a non-profit workforce development program to train under-employed adults on digital skills called i.c.stars.
Ryan has also authored a book on increasing the odds of success in creating products, being a Founder, and starting companies called The Founder’s Manual: A Guidebook for Becoming a Successful Entrepreneur.
Ryan speaks frequently about the product, Founder, and startup journeys. In this episode we discuss his background, the startup community, what makes a great startup founder, the nature of today's pandemic environment and its impact on launching new companies, the importance of family in business, and more!

Based in the Atlanta area, John shares his story of beginning in the financial industry, experiencing firsthand the behavior that influenced the 2008 recession, transitioning from the financial industry to be a logistical restaurateur, and then back to the financial industry to help people achieve financial security in a transparent, honorable fashion.
ABOUT JOHN
John Stoj is likely the only Investment Advisor you've ever met who has managed both $3.5 billion and a sushi kitchen. John’s career in finance began on a Wall Street trading floor over twenty-five years ago, with stops at investment & commercial banks, money managers, and even his own hedge fund, and this has uniquely prepared him to see the financial services industry for what it is:
flush with companies and professionals far more focused on their own best interests than their customers. John believes sincerely that, done well and delivered fairly, good financial advice is more valuable than its cost, and worth buying.
Unfortunately, through his experience, he knows that banks, broker-dealers, insurance companies, etc. do not have their customers’ best interests in mind – they have theirs in mind. On top of that, John brings to the table experience opening, running, and selling a small food service business. Nothing breaks you out from the shackles of Wall Street than small business ownership on Main Street. John enjoys sharing his stories and advice from Wall Street, small business ownership, and (did we mention?) what it’s like to be married to an extremely successful doctor.

With more than 10 years of experience, Sheleah Harris has a professional background in secondary education, local government affairs, community engagement, and marketing. Fueled by her strong desire to restructure broken images of youth in our society, she has consistently aligned herself with opportunities to implement strategies for academic, social, and economic success for others. Sheleah is driven to improve “Equity and Access for ALL students” in Shelby County. She is a servant leader who has been relentless in her pursuit to create environments that cultivate an attitude of excellence within communities and neighborhoods throughout Shelby County. She is the founder and executive director of Living Grace, Inc. a non-profit organization that advocates and serves youth identified as homeless in Memphis. In addition, Sheleah also works as a manager of State and Local Government Affairs for a Fortune 500 company. In her role, she listens, learns and leads in the charge for innovation by collaborating with community stakeholders and legislatures to drive equity and access throughout the city.
Formerly, Sheleah also served as a high school teacher for Shelby County Schools and Bartlett City Schools. Sheleah is a proud product of Shelby County’s District 5 and a current resident and graduate of Cordova High School. She earned her B.S. in Marketing Management from The University of Memphis, M.S. in Education from Freed-Hardeman University, and certification in K-12 Education for the state of Tennessee.
She enjoys being active with her church, Life Church of Memphis; spending time with her family and friends; and spoiling her Hound Dog, Andy.
