Episode 136: Digger Destruction Jan 24, 2019

Show notes

Welcome back to The Luke and Pete Show, and after Monday's festival of news and action we get straight back into the weeds with yet more chat about Prince Philip, before we discuss the worst thing you'd want to happen to your onboard a pleasure cruise.

Beyond that, there's a barman's tale of a £10 all you can drink night, yet more #woodlicecontent, and a truly staggering decision from Mr Pete Donaldson to take an alarm clock, yes, an alarm clock, on his very first date as a 14 year old.

We would love to hear from you, so get in touch: hello@lukeandpeteshow.com

Episode 135: Chuckypigs, or chiggywigs? Jan 21, 2019

Show notes

Welcome to your all new episode of The Luke and Pete Show, it's even more zeitgeisty than usual! That means we've got Prince Phillip doing his 'thing', Prince Mick Fleetwood doing *his* thing, and Prince Pete Donaldson doing *his* thing in Istanbul last weekend. Insatiable rascals, the lot of 'em.

Elsewhere, there's woodlice and the frankly remarkable names we have for them here in the UK, someone who broke his ankle while listening to us (Attn: lawyers, we are *not* liable), and a tribute to Buzz Aldrin who turned 89 yesterday and has a decent claim to being the best human being on the planet. Happy Birthday, Buzz!

Episode 134: Tattoos, death, and a Lukealike Jan 17, 2019

Show notes

Hello everyone. Nice to see you. Thanks for popping back in. You've come to the right place for Pete's obsession with crap technology, information on the most popular day of the year to get a divorce (it's in January, unsurprisingly), and individuals' power of recall over their own tattoos.

In addition to this, we recite a truly fascinating tale of a young man working as an ice cream salesman for a summer that includes a deserted warehouse and a holdall full of cash. It's unmissable.

We need to hear from you, so don't be shy. You can even remain anonymous if you like: hello@lukeandpeteshow.com

Episode 133: Foaming hell Jan 14, 2019

Show notes

This time around on *your* Luke and Pete Show, Pete's been interviewing Steve Coogan about his new movie Stan and Ollie, and we quickly move things on to Quentin Tarantino, and then, separately, some breaking news about the 1900 Great Plague of Glasgow. You know us, ear to the ground.

We also hear from a listener that embarked upon work experience at Loaded magazine with hilarious consequences and how, in one of the only occasions Pete did a full day's honest work, he covered someone in foam.

To send us your work experiences, favourite films, or to suggest something for us to do, it's: hello@lukeandpeteshow.com

Episode 132: Do it all on expenses Jan 10, 2019

Show notes

Welcome back to The Luke and Pete Show! It's Thursday, and so it's very nearly the weekend. Allow us to help you get there with another half an hour of nonsense, this time around including the busting of an urban myth or two, a strangely supportive attitude towards lad mags of the 90s, and obviously then Pete veers into chat about masturbation. We apologise in advance.

Elsewhere there's a bit on The Inbetweeners, and then someone gets in touch to talk about stealing from vending machines.

Episode 131: A broad parish Jan 07, 2019

Show notes

Welcome to your all new episode of The Luke and Pete Show, indeed the second issue of 2019. We're celebrating the new year by discussing Limewire, Morpheus and Kazaa (the only way of grabbing the music you wanted for free back in 2002), a couple of films we've seen, and a 70-year-old Japanese skateboarder. Obviously.

After that there's plenty of stories from you too, and we thank you for your continued dedication to the podcast about absolutely nothing at all. It's such fun to make for you.

We'd love to hear from you: hello@lukeandpeteshow.com

Episode 130: Donaldson Futurism Jan 03, 2019

Show notes

Happy New Year everyone! We're now officially in the future, it's 2019. How exciting!

On today's episode we discuss some of the predictions about what 2019 might look like, including the end of the working week as we know it (something that ended for both Luke and Pete some time ago...), what the future holds for both The Luke and The Pete, and the danger of the Deepfake. Oooh, scary.

As discussed, if you've got something you want us to tackle in 2019, email us: hello@lukeandpeteshow.com

Episode 129: Reflections on a year, sort of Dec 31, 2018

Show notes

It's New Year's Eve! But that won't deter the chaps from discussing the big issues and getting reflective about the year that's just passed. We chat Pete's resolutions for next year (including why he doesn't really believe in them, obviously), and lots more.

There's also plenty of time to hear from you guys, and to have an email considered for the show, it's hello@lukeandpeteshow.com

Thanks for all your support in 2018, and we look forward to seeing more of you in 2019! Stay safe and call your mother more, you know how she worries.

Episode 128: Betwixtmas Dec 27, 2018

Show notes

We're in that weird period of time between Christmas and New Year where no-one is really doing much of anything apart from you poor souls that have no choice but to go into work. This episode is for you, we got your back.

For the rest of us, this week means leftover food, TV specials, the pub and taking it easy. Go on, you deserve it. Also, listen out for a treat of an email involving an enthusiastic approach to a school talent show.

Now go get yourself another sherry, it's Christmas. Oh, and we're on hello@lukeandpeteshow.com should you need us...

Episode 127: A nut without the sack Dec 24, 2018

Show notes

What better way to usher in Christmas than with plenty of chat about dead people that have dedicated their bodies to science? That's right, Pete has been to the Body Worlds exhibition, brainchild of the controversial Dr Gunther von Hagens. It's not for the squeamish.

In other more traditional fare, we discuss Christmas traditions, including Pete spending quite a depressing amount of Christmas Day alone (boo hoo), followed by near-death experiences, and finally crop circles with one of the 'world's leading experts'.

Have a very Merry Christmas! See you on the other side!
