Star Trek 2: The Wrath of Khan Oct 06, 2024

Show notes

This is NOT Ceti-Alpha V, but it IS a fantastic dive into what many consider to be the best Star Trek movie of all time. Big Billy Shatner thought he was going to get to eat on set, but tragically realized that Montalban already ate all the scenery. It's a classic - you're gunna' love it.

Sorcerer Sep 16, 2024

Show notes

William Friedkin is known mostly for The Exorcist, but there is an argument to be made that Sorcerer is a better movie top to bottom. It's a fantastic piece of film making with excellent tension, and beautiful cinematography. Rounding out the immersive experience is an excellent score from Tangerine Dream.

Longlegs Sep 09, 2024

Show notes

Longlegs is what you get when you take the child of Norman Bates, and put him behind the camera, and Nick Cage in front of the camera. It's certainly interesting, Cage is as "Cagey" as ever, but the movie doesn't quite stick the landing.

Alien: Romulus Aug 27, 2024

Show notes

Nothing says rugged, no-nonsense, hard knuckle, challenging, colonial life like a bunch of pretty, annoying, and whiny teens, but fear not - it's watchable even if it sometimes plays like a CW drama. If you have to pick ONE Alien flick to watch - 100% pick this one like 4th or 5th.

Stargate Aug 20, 2024

Show notes

Stargate is loaded with unique and interesting ideas. The bad guys offer an interesting look into human history (Egypt) that is deeply fascinating. The most difficult thing to watch is Kurt Russell's flattop, oh, and that odd bad guy leader who gives real Mike Jackson vibes.
