Ep. 128 - Patrick Luca (Saft) - Deep House Mix Apr 07, 2020
    Show notes

Patrick Luca runs some incredibly cool record labels based out of the Canary Islands in Spain. Saft, Pulp, and Born. Actually, unrelated he put me on to an album I have listened to at this point nearly thousands of times Joan Bibiloni's 'Born' album. God, I love that album. I connected with Saft to coordinate a very cool EP series with Dam-Funk entitled Architecture. We did one in 2016 and a second in 2018. House-oriented Dam-Funk music, super dope. Anyway, he releases tons of high quality music. Great taste. He put together this all vinyl mix of 90's House selects. It is a journey, if you are stuck in your house right now this is what will get you up. Use this as a battery pack. It's uptempo and super soulful. Check all these out: https://saft.bandcamp.com/merch - the bio says it all "Spanish Deep House label run by Patrick Luca" ENJOY!

    Ep. 126 - Travie McCoy - Dubai DJ Mix Apr 03, 2020
    Show notes

Trav is an old friend of mine, we used to live in the same building in Brooklyn back in the day. Many know him from his group Gym Class Heroes as well as his countless solo mega-hits. But at the end of the day he is a hardcore music aficionado. So, when I asked if he'd be down for the mix project he happily obliged. Actually this is a rare live DJ set he did in Dubai very recently. It's club ready and vibed out. Feels like you right there in the middle of the action. A nice addition to the growingly diverse DJ mix catalog I've been curating for you! Please take a moment to subscribe and share this and all of our mixes freely!

Ep. 127 - Dan Greenpeace (Random Rap Mix) Apr 03, 2020

Globally respected DJ and journalist Dan Greenpeace blessed us with a fantastic, brand new all vinyl Random Rap mix. Some real gems in this one and if you are a fan of Random Rap and the overall vibes from the old schools, then you'll truly utterly enjoy this. It's hard hitting, mid 80s flavs. Some real obscure oddities in there too. Only true heads will be able to pick this one a part. Dan has been producing mixes for many years so we're super thankful he was down to contribute something extra special for the podcast. Find more from Dan here: @dangreenpeace and here dangreenpeace.com - and please subscribe and spread the word.

    Ep. 125 - Mister Cam-Run / Dub DJ Mix 2020 Mar 31, 2020
    Show notes

This is a nice new edition to the growing stellar line-up of exclusive DJ mixes. Another All Vinyl jumpoff - this one recorded JUST NOW in the planet Brooklyn by Mister Cam-Run. Cam has DJ'ed with some true titans of sound like Sir Norman Jay, John Morales, GE-OLOGY, Mase from De La, M-Phazes and many more. I've had the pleasure of hearing and seeing Cam spin around NYC many times. I met him through a my longtime homeboy Sean Rowlands, they held down a dope ass radio show on The Lot radio for a while now. Native to Melbourne, AUS, I asked Cam if he'd be open to put together a DJ mix for the podcast. Now the guy has many great selections in the Funk / Soulful genre - but I knew that Cam also held down some Reggae style gigs in BK so asked if he'd be down to pull some records in the dub / roots variety. He came through with some joints! This is just what I needed. Perfect to wake up to or jus' roll a spliff of any size with one goal .. relaxing. Escapism. Dig deep into. It's great. You'll LOVE this. Please send this to ANY friends you know into tunes from the Island. Especially All my Brooklyn heads! Please subscribe to the podcast on whatever format you listen. Ep. 124 - Dooley O - The Beat Segment #3 Mar 28, 2020
    Show notes

Years ago on my old record label Female Fun, I dropped a mixtape from my friend Dooley O. It was called The Beat Segment. Now, the Beat Segment started as a cable access TV show or a VHS video magazine. Dooley has been involved in all things hip-hop from the jump - as a producer, rapper, DJ, graf artist and painter, videographer/director and more. He bleeds art. He has sick records and has been digging for years, way before it was ever even trendy. I asked him very nicely to produce an all new Beat Segment for the podcast and he obliged. I appreciate it and I think you're gonna like this. It's mad soulful, political, and just very timely. Listen to it when you bump it, some good records in there! Please send it to people into funk, soul, rare groove and all of that. Doesn't matter where they are or how old, just put them onto this. We need you the listener to help get the word out!! Be safe and ENJOY!

Ep. 123 - Andrew Broder (Fog) Mixtape Mar 23, 2020
    Show notes

Early alumni of the show (episode 11!) Andrew Broder (aka Fog) created this therapeutic all vinyl mix just days ago exclusively for the House List and I gotta tell ya, it's a pleasant offering. Subtle, meditative and measured with a really unique crosshatch of genre and intention. This is a good one to get lost within. I'd recommend it for staring out of windows, going for short government mandated walks, resting, drawing, cooking, cleaning and just about anything else. Again, all mixed straight from Broder's vinyl collection in Minneapolis, MN. He has a vast catalog of amazing original music too - I highly recommend checking out - andrewbroder.bandcamp.com - and supporting or streaming his recent projects. If you may not be familiar at all with Broder's work - he has collaborated with the likes of Bon Ever, Serengeti, WHY?, Andrew Bird, Doseone, and many others.

    Ep. 122 - J-Zone (Funk 45 Mix) Mar 19, 2020
    Show notes

House List podcast alumni J-Zone is the latest on board for our ongoing DJ mix series and he brought those heaters. Zone has been making strides with his own Funk project The Du-Rites and continuously building his rep in the drumming world - and those influences are surely available in this mix. We get crackling drums and boppin' baselines of that 60s and early 70's soul and funk right here. This is that up in the morning motivation kind of mix, or that late night groove. It's a head nodder. Make sure that you go back to our original interview all the way back on Episode 57! Don't sleep on his original music (especially if you dig this kind of vibe) hit https://j-zone.bandcamp.com and drop a couple bucks!! Also, please do us a favor and help spread the word on this show. It is 200% word of mouth and I want you to send this link to any friends you may think dig!! I mean that. Thanks for listening!

    Ep. 121 - DJ Randy Watson - Funk Sofistikate Vol 2 Mar 11, 2020
    Show notes

DJ Randy Watson aka Ron is a long time member of the fabled Funkmosphere DJ crew from out of Los Angeles. Many of you that know Dam-Funk's work and history will be very familiar with this historic DJ residency that ran for 10 strong years in the LA area. Ron has always been the secret weapon of that squad, to me, and I always enjoyed his contributions. Ep. 120 - JEL's A2D 2020 MIXX Mar 06, 2020
    Show notes

In this installment of our now beloved exclusive DJ mix series veteran underground producer JEL emerges from the shadows of the East Bay with a brand new, all vinyl fusion of some wild wild sounds. The crunch of drums, mad guitars, crusty dusty notions jump in front of your face like a crazed maniac in the Mission. This is a super interesting peek into the mind and record collection of Jeffery JEL Logan. Many should know his production work for the breadth of the Anticon collective - longtime member of Themselves, Subtle, Deep Puddle Dynamics, Presage - the list goes on. He is one of my favorite producers and people. I've done countless shows with him, travelled on planes, vans and cars with him; crashed on floors and broke bread many times over. I'm super thrilled to include him in this series. I think you'll really like this - I'm telling you though, it's a wild ride. It's like being on an airplane.. brace yourself!
