X-Men: Apocalypse begins in 3600 BC, as En Sabah Nur (Apocalypse, as we come to know him) is attempting to move his consciousness and powers to a new body, one that possesses the power of rapid healing, so that it can be added to his collection of abilities. While this happens he is to be protected by his four greatest warriors who unfortunately fail, but not before the transition is complete just as the ceremony chamber collapses into the earth. After a few thousand years, stupid men dig him up and unleash upon Earth...well, the Apocalypse. One which only our beloved gaggle of X-Men can help avert.
This special episode of The Hollywood Outsider podcast is dedicated to Bryan Singer's fourth and latest go-round at mutant history as he takes on his most challenging film and foe yet. Where does it end up in the lexicon of Marvel's X-Men films? Did it deserve the critical lashing many have given it? Is Apocalypse everything it could have been? We discuss this film in detail, both spoiler-free and aplenty, so don't miss our X-Men: Apocalypse Reactions Podcast.

Over the course of cinema history, there have been more than a few missteps in terms of casting. Whether it's a starring or supporting role, which actor plays the part is almost as integral to a film's success as the story or the special effects. It only takes one bad choice to completely derail a film.
This week we take a look at the worst of the worst in movie casting mistakes. From Anakin Skywalker to Genghis Khan, we run the gamut on the bad decisions Hollywood sometimes forces on us as we each pick our 3 worst movie casting decisions.

Do you remember that song from that one movie? The one that came on the radio as soon as you left the theater, causing you to crank the dial all the way up, drop the windows down and scream out of your window in the vicinity of random strangers?
THAT'S the song we're talking about this week, as we dive into what we consider to be the greatest original film song of all-time. Is it Purple Rain? Maybe Danger Zone? How about Goldfinger?
Grab that broom handle and bring your vocal stylings along for a trip down memory lane as we determine our personal favorites and even whip up a movie soundtrack of our lives.

Don’t you love it when you are watching your favorite television show, and your favorite character gets him or herself into a predicament that you just know they will wiggle themselves out of…and then they DIE?!
Oh, we’ve all been there. The RAGE that seeps through your pores, the visceral reaction to the fact that a character you have spent tens of hours becoming attached to has just been forever ripped away from your heart.
Is it fair? Is it right? Most importantly, is television getting carried away with it?
This is our topic this week as we discuss TV’s recent obsession with constantly knocking off beloved characters. Not only are they killing too many, a bunch of them KEEP COMING BACK!

Disney has been the crown jewel of animation for decades, providing family after family with countless hours of laughter, heart, and joy. Beginning with Snow White, Walt Disney began a legacy that remains unrivaled, and this week, The Hollywood Outsider celebrates his legacy.
This week’s topic brings back one of our most popular segments: The Movie Battle Royale! 8 movies enter our cinematic ring of fire, and only can leave the Champion of the HO Universe. This time, we took on an impossible task and broke down our all-time favorite Disney animated classics to eight final films, and only the classic hand-drawn animation are allowed this week.
Will it be Beauty and the Beast? Cinderella? The Lion King? Aladdin? Bambi? Only one film will survive this edition of The Movie Battle Royale!
