Peter had some feedback on last Sunday's Covid-19 episode so he goes through one or two points raised.
If not closing the restaurants then what should we do?
Are you saying you're not taking Covid seriously? (Spoiler alert; the answer to that question is "No, I'm taking it more seriously than most")
We're also talking potatoes and how people most people on a low carb diet don't understand why/how the low carb diets work.

    Covid-19 Oct 11, 2020
    Show notes

    Send us Fan Mail

Peter waffles about Covid-19 and answers one or two questions that are pertinent for pregnant and recently post-natal women.
What, if anything, should those women look out for and do?
He also goes over the new restrictions in Scotland and the rUK (which are never ever the same for some reason) and asks if the new restrictions make sense/are fair.
He's had a look at the evidence paper for Scotland and has one or two comments..mainly suprise at people being surprised that the numbers went back up.
And then we look at the problem all these restrictions pose for mums-to-be and new mums. And it, again, becomes quite clear that the NHS is failing women spectacularly. So what can we do?

Peter waffles about support groups. Is your support group actually holding you back/preventing you from taking action and resolving the issues you're dealing with?
He talks about an experience HPNB had this week which opened our eyes to this particular problem.
Also, Diastasis Recti and back pain..why is the link still not acknowledged as much as it should?
Oh and just in case you didn't know this yet; Post-Natal health advice should not have to come with a payment plan!

The first is; I’m just at a point where I feel I can start to get into a routine and get on top of my Diastasis recti BUT I’ve just found out I’m pregnant again.

Is there anything is should or should not be doing?

And the second; Why is my gap getting bigger? Did some physio after my baby pp7 months but now my gap is getting bigger again??

He also briefly touches on why women should ALWAYS train differently from men. It's not that you shouldn't lift heavy, or train hard, but there are differences.

Motivation drop-outs. Did you start before you were ready? Sep 27, 2020
    Show notes

    Send us Fan Mail

Peter waffles about motivation. The problem with starting something (diet, exercise or anything really) before you're mentally ready to start is that you're very likely to fail in achieving your goal. People who have failed before, because they made a half-hearted attempt the first time, are MUCH more likely to not try again.
So he shares his tips for making sure you're good to start and then keep up that work-ethic.

Breathing is THE MOST important thing for post-natal recovery Sep 23, 2020

Peter waffles for 30 minutes about breathing and how it is THE SINGLE most important thing for your post-natal recovery.
He then talks about when you should/can start exercising post-partum. Why the advice to "rest, rest, rest for months" is pretty bad.
And how big is "normal" for a 2 weeks post-partum stomach??

Lifestyle magazines, post-natal massage and food hangovers Sep 20, 2020

Peter waffles for 30 minutes about ignoring the gossip/lifestyle magazines when it comes to health advice. An example being this article about protein deficiency in "Stylist" magazine.
It's nothing against the magazines as such, they just don't really know how to source geniune experts as the above article shows.
He also elaborates on the problem of titles in the Health and Fitness industry; "Holistic nutritionist, Nutritional Expert, Personal Trainer, Post-Natal Fitness Specialist" etc. etc. These titles don't mean anything and that's a real problem.
And then we go back to proper post-natal stuff as he goes over some benefits of Post-Natal massage (Remember we have a Facebook competition on this week) AND we're talking food hangovers!
