    Show notes

Dozens of Texas House Democrats have fled the state in an attempt to avoid or prevent a vote in the state legislature that would push forward a GOP redistricting effort. Greg Abbott has threatened to arrest and expel the House Democrats if they do not return by today.

FOX’s Eben Brown speaks with Hans A. von Spakovsky, Manager of Election Law Reform Initiative and Senior Legal Fellow at the Heritage Foundation, who says the Governor and the Texas Attorney General can take action to force their return to finalize the vote.

President Trump Doesn't Teeter On Tariffs Aug 04, 2025
    Show notes

The Trump administration has a lot of irons in the fire right now, between President Trump's efforts to broker peace in the world's hot spots, tariff negotiations with many countries, and his attempt to stabilize the U.S. economy. Meanwhile, the 2026 Midterm Elections are swiftly approaching, and both parties have their eyes on key political races. Republican strategist and co-founder of South and Hill Strategies, Colin Reed, joins the Rundown to discuss the current state of the U.S. economy and how President Trump's economic policies will reflect voters' decisions in the 2026 Midterm Elections.

Tariffs, job numbers, and interest rates are all impacting the economic picture within the United States; however, American small businesses seem resilient in finding carrots, sticks, resources, and hope. Marcus Lemonis , CEO of Camping World, Executive Chairman for Beyond, and the host of the new show, “The Fixer,” on FOX Business, joins the Rundown to give his perspective on the poor jobs report and why he believes the Trump administration’s tariff strategy is a good one. Later, he talks about helping small businesses get back to thriving on his brand new FOX Business show airing Friday nights.

Plus, commentary from FOX News Contributor Joe Concha.

Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and FDA Commissioner Dr. Marty Makary are leading that effort by addressing many things, including what is in our food, our dietary guidelines, and what medications are made available.

Recently, Dr. Makary joined FOX News Rundown host Dave Anthony to discuss his efforts to help improve America’s health. He discussed the importance of removing dyes and other chemicals from our foods, and also why our nation needs to rethink its dietary guidelines that he believes have led to America’s obesity problem.

Dr. Makary also discussed the dangers of popular energy drinks and gummies containing opioid-like substances that many people may not realize are harmful.

We often have to cut interviews short during the week, but we thought you might like to hear the full interview.

Today on Fox News Rundown Extra, we will share our entire interview with FDA Commissioner Dr. Marty Makary, allowing you to hear even more of his views on how we can improve the health of Americans and why he says we’re paying the price for decades of bad policy.

Extra: Can Americans Trust The US Organ Donation System? Aug 02, 2025
    Show notes

A recent report from the U.S. Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) reviewed 350 organ transplant cases managed by Kentucky Organ Donor Affiliates, and found one hundred cases had what they called "concerning features."

In some cases, donors were still showing neurological signs, indicating the organ procurement process began for patients before they were officially declared deceased.

The report led to shocking headlines, a congressional hearing, and many Americans questioning whether they could trust our country’s organ donation system.

Recently on the FOX News Rundown, the chief of the Health Resources and Services Administration's organ transplant branch, Dr. Raymond Lynch, joined host Jessica Rosenthal to discuss the alarming report, the process of organ transplants, and what they’re doing to ensure that they’re done properly.

Dr. Lynch discussed what went wrong in the cases where the transplant process began too early, but also emphasized how well the system works generally and how it's vital to saving lives.

We often have to cut interviews short during the week, but we thought you might like to hear the full interview.

Today on Fox News Rundown Extra, we will share our entire interview with Dr. Raymond Lynch, allowing you to learn even more about America’s organ donation system.

From Washington: Why The White House Believes in Its Tariff Strategy Aug 02, 2025
    Show notes

Many products and produce shipped into the U.S. will face higher tariffs next week, as President Trump meets his self-imposed August 1st deadline to reach new trade deals or implement reciprocal tariffs on U.S. trading partners. While the President secured some major deals before Friday, most nations received letters detailing the tax rates on their imports into the U.S. The White House claims that tariffs will generate trillions and benefit American workers, but some businesses are warning consumers that prices will rise. White House Deputy Press Secretary Kush Desai joins the podcast to discuss the President’s tariff strategy, the deals they hope to make with major trading partners, and the concerns some Americans have over the policy.

Then, FOX Business White House Correspondent Edward Lawrence analyzes the July jobs report and discusses how a slowing labor market, concerns over tariffs, and other factors could influence the Fed’s decision to lower interest rates and the White House’s economic plans.
