It's been over 75 days since Hamas' heinous attack on
Israel, where they kidnapped hundreds of innocent civilians, including a small
group of Americans, from their homes and loved ones. Fast forward to now, many
families are still awaiting the return of their children, siblings, parents,
and significant others. As the Biden Administration and government officials
repeatedly promise that rescuing American hostages and freeing all innocent
civilians is their priority, what will it take for Hamas to release those
they've abducted before more lives are lost? On the Rundown, Jonathan
Dekel-Chen, whose son Sagui was abducted and remains held hostage by Hamas, and
his wife Gillian Kaye recount the traumatic days following the news of Sagui's
kidnapping. They also share what it's been like working closely with the Biden
Administration to get Sagui back and how they hold on to hope, even on the
darkest days.
With grocery prices rising, many families are struggling to
make ends meet. According to Feeding America, one in five children in the U.S.
doesn't have enough to eat, but oftentimes food insecurity is overlooked for
other needs. During the holidays, food banks receive a plethora of donations.
However, the need is year-round. CEO of Feeding America Claire Babineaux-Fontenot
joins the Rundown to discuss why food banks are struggling to receive donations
and how people can help.
