Star Wars Podcast Day 2024 (Ep #65) Feb 07, 2024

Show notes

Star Wars Podcast Day is here!! Jedi John and Obi-Sean are back to talk Star Wars movies, specifically, which watch order is best. Many are familiar with most, whether numerical, chronological, or Machete but John brings an option to the party that...well let's just say Sean's feeble mind has a hard time comprehending. It's a fun discussion all around, and we had a blast recording this! Be sure to let us know which watch order you think is best!

What is Star Wars Podcast Day? It's a celebration of the 1st Star Wars podcast, Jedi Talk, which this year is celebrating its 25th anniversary. We, along with over 100 other shows, are taking part in celebrating and bringing you all kinds of Star Wars (and other) content.

Post-Production Note: Most references to "chronological" made during the episode are meant to be numerical. Apparently we don't know the difference

The Year In Review - 2023 (Ep #63) Dec 28, 2023

Show notes

As Star Wars fans we were spoiled with content in 2023. While heavily frontloaded with Bad Batch, Mando, Celebration and Jedi Survivor all before May it was a jam packed year wrapping with Ahsoka in October.

On this episode we take a look back at the year that was and share some of our favorite and least favorite moments and take a quick look ahead to 2024.

Also, Jedi John has finally started into the High Republic novels and Obi-Sean just finished The Fallen Star so there is a bit of THR chatter

Lastly, we close with a quick 30,000 foot view of the new Rebel Moon film which has just released on Netflix. Described in the lead up as an "adult version" of Star Wars is it really that interesting?

So sit back and relax, this is where the fun begins!

Jedi, Witch, and Warlord...Oh My! - Ahsoka S1:E8 and Series Review (Ep #60) Oct 12, 2023

Show notes

"For The Empire!"

We've made it to the season (series?) finale of Ahsoka, and it feels as though we are left with more questions than answers. Yes, Ezra made it back to the known galaxy, and is reunited with Hera but Ahsoka and Sabine are left behind. What will they do now that they're stranded? Where were Baylan and Shin this episode, and what does Baylan know of The Ones? Did the zombie stormies "hit their mark", and do The Great Mothers have Thrawn by the proverbial meilooruns?

All that and more so sit back and relax, this is where the fun begins!

"Thrawn of The Dead" - Ahsoka S1:E6 (Ep #59) Sep 26, 2023

Show notes

THRAWN HAS ARRIVED!

After months of waiting we finally get the full reveal of our favorite Chiss Grand Admiral...and he's not alone. From Great Mothers to Night Troopers, he's got plenty of assistance to get back home. He's not the only reveal as Sabine's quest finally comes to a head as she finally finds Ezra! While she's mum on how she got thee (or how she's planning to get home), that part of her journey can finally be concluded.

We take a look at the broader mythological tropes both within Star Wars itself, as well as the intertwining of Greek and Norse mythologies and theorize what it might lead to (ie: SW Ragnarok??). We also touch on Sabine's actions to this point and what her finding Ezra could lead to, and just what is calling to Baylan?

All that and more, so sit back and relax, this is where the fun begins!

Free 'Fallen' Into The World Between Worlds - Ahsoka S1:E4 (Ep #57) Sep 12, 2023

Show notes

“Everyone in the order knew Anakin Skywalker. Few would live to see what he became.” -- Baylan Skoll.

In this episode of TFD we review all that was great from Ahsoka - Part IV "Fallen Jedi". Three lightsaber duels, Two questionable decisions, One World Between Worlds, and the return of The Chooosen One.

Tune in as we dive headfirst into the smorgasbord of theories covering Anakin's purpose, Ahsoka's visit to TWBW, Hera's questionable parenting decisions (and importance of the Ghost), and WTF was Sabine thinking? Big Ups to John who recorded this with only half a voice :)

So sit back and relax, this is where the fun begins!

"Fly You Fools!" - Ahsoka S1:E3 (Ep #56) Sep 04, 2023

Show notes

It's TIME TO FLY with Ahsoka and Sabine in Episode #3. A more methodical episode after the two episode premiere we discuss the more subtle world building laid out in this episode.

We discuss the fun little Easter eggs and callbacks, littered throughout, with our main topics of discussions centered around;

Force users, other than the Jedi? Does it affect the allure?
Trust, and it's importance for both Ahsoka and Sabine (and Hera)
Baylan Skoll's motivations

We close with our own episode ratings and then dive, once again, into the treasure trove that is the IMDB comment section.

Leaving our toy news to last we have some new fall LEGO set releases, plus a theory on a huge LEGO production error and we close the episode with an exciting announcement for the show!

So sit back and relax, this is where the fun begins!
