A lot of topics were covered on @TheEmilyDBaker channel for the week of December 11th. David Dobrik is being sued by his personal injury insurance company because they believe the incident with Jeff Wittek is a work related injury.

The Petito's motion against Steve Bertilito has been dismissed and the corresponding hearing has been canceled. The Trial is still set for May 2024.

The judge gives psychic TikToker another chance to respond to the request for admissions in the Idaho Defamation case.

Young Thug's RICO trial gets postponed due to one of the co-defendants getting stabbed in custody. They are down to 15 jurors, and it is not looking like the estimated year-long trial will be able to sustain the process.

Courthouse Becky Hill's ethics complaint has been leaked, and new information about her son's arrest has been released. Oklahoma texting judge responds to the allegations of abuse of process.

Dan Markel's murder case has new developments. Dan Markel's ex-brother-in-law, Charlie Adelson, was sentenced to life in prison plus 60 years. Dan Markel's ex-mother-in-law, Donna Adelson, was arrested while trying to flee the country and was arraigned.

New filings with 8 Passangers, Ruby Franke and the Jodi Hildebrandt case. The prosecution is asking for a waiver of the preliminary hearing.

A month ago, Charlie Adelson was convicted for the murder of Dan Markel, along with the conspiracy to commit the murder and for soliciting the murder.

Donna Adelson, Charlie's mother, was arrested at Miami International Airport before boarding a one-way flight to Vietnam. Donna spoke with Charlie in a recorded jailhouse call, stating her reason for going to Vietnam was because she thought they did not extradite criminals back to the USA.

Donna is now charged with Murder, Conspiracy to Commit Murder, and solicitation of murder. I break down the timeline, intercepted conversations, and if anyone else could be arrested in this case.

The Petito v. Laundrie civil case is set for a spring 2024 trial, but there is a lot of litigation to go before then. In recent litigation, we learned that Brian Laundrie called his parents ‘frantic,’ saying Gabby was ‘gone’ and that he needed a lawyer. With the help of Attorney Steven Bertilino, they hired a criminal defense attorney in Wyoming. They are also seeking to compel further deposition of Bertilino, hoping the Judge will order him to disclose the contents of conversations with Brian Laundrie, which Bertilion asserts are protected by attorney-client privilege.

In the Emily Show Podcast, I discuss the Young Thug trial wildness and the RICO charges against him. This trial has already been wild and with over six months of trial expected, I am sure there will be more ahead.

In May 2022, Young Thug and 26 others were arrested on a 55-count indictment, including RICO charges. The trial has already taken almost 11 months to select a jury and is expected to last numerous months. With the length of this case already the roadblocks in this first week frustrated Judge Ural Glanville, including errors made by the prosecution in opening statements. This case has already had some wild moments in court. This week I break down the charges, the law, the controversy, and the unusual moments.

Bryan Kohberger's motion was granted regarding removing media cameras in the courtroom. Moving forward, the court will operate their own camera and broadcast to the court’s YouTube channel.

The TikTok defamation psychic's case continues as the TikTok'er accuses the court of inappropriate behavior while not adhering to the request for discovery.

Clerk of Court Becky Hill’s son was arrested for wiretapping, allegedly in connection with his job as the IT director for Colleton County. Interestingly, this case investigation started a few days after team Murdaugh filed their motion to stay the appeal, and Becky Hill’s phone was subsequently taken via a search warrant in connection with this investigation.

Lastly, Alex Murdaugh pled guilty to the state financial crimes and was sentenced to 27 years. Alex addressed his victims and the media, seemingly trying to make everyone understand that he felt bad for the crimes he committed and insisted that he did not kill his wife and son.

Muraugh murder trial Clerk of Court Becky Hill’s son, the head of the Colleton County IT department was arrested for wiretapping in an investigation that also resulted in Becky Hill’s phone being taken due to a search warrant.

It seems the 14th circuit solicitor's office was asked to look into this, days after Murdaugh’s defense team filed their appellate motion accusing Becky Hill of jury tampering.

Is this all a wild conscience or is there a lot more going on in the low country??

Cassie Ventura dropped a staggering lawsuit accusing Sean Combs of sexual assault, human trafficking, harassment, assault, and more. The allegations were shocking to some, and confirmation of suspicions to others. Combs' attorney was quick to accuse Cassie Ventura of seeking a payday and of previously attempting to blackmail Combs for 30 million. Based on the strong denial from Combs's attorney, it was shocking when news of the lawsuit settling came just 24 hours after the filing of the lawsuit.

Alex Murdaugh was making moves leading up to his global plea deal. He was scheduled to go to trial on November 27, 2023, and will instead be sentenced on November 28, 2023. In addition to his plea to resolve the state financial cases, he also had a win with Judge Newman voluntarily recusing himself from hearing the Motion for New Trial on the murder case.

Kouri Richins, who's accused of poisoning her husband with fentanyl, was back in court for a slate of hearings. Her attorneys had made a motion to dismiss the charges, accusing the prosecution of misconduct, while the court gave her a lot of room to argue the motion was denied.

Coach Monica, head coach of the Navarro College Cheer team who was highlighted in Netflix's series Cheer has been dismissed from a lawsuit and cleared by USA Cheer after a six-month investigation.

The sport of cheerleading has seen its fair share of scandals and lawsuits. Regarding the Navarro program, which was the subject of the Netflix series Cheer, there have been several very high-profile scandals.

In April, a former Navarro cheerleader sued the college, Coach Monica, and others over an alleged sexual assault by a fellow cheerleader, accusing the school and coaching staff of failing to protect members of the team from sexual assault and harassment.

The case against Coach Monica has been dismissed, and she has been cleared by USA Cheer over six months after the lawsuit was filed.
