Battleground Maine: Sen. Collins Fights to Hold Maine—and the Senate Majority Oct 29, 2026
    Show notes

In this special battleground state edition of The FOX News Rundown: Evening Edition, FOX's Peter Doocy takes a look into another neck and neck Senate race, this one in Maine.

In Maine, Sen. Susan Collins (R-ME), is the only Republican incumbent running in a state that went for Kamala Harris in 2024. Collins' Democratic challenger is Troy Jackson, former president of the state Senate who jumped into the race to replace the scandal-plagued Graham Platner. The race shows the candidates tied, with Jackson and Collins at 49% apiece. A recent A Fox News poll showed 53% of voters are concerned Collins votes with Trump too much, and by contrast, 46% are concerned Jackson is too liberal.

Mathew Continetti, journalist and Director of Domestic Policy Studies at the American Enterprise Institute, joins the podcast and says this Senate race could be very telling for the GOP if early polling shows Senator Collins in trouble.
