Day 4 of the Kouri Richins murder trial brought unexpected turns and explosive testimony, starting with an unexplained end to the previous day's session. The Toxicologist Testimony delves into the forensic findings, including the high concentration of fentanyl and norfentanyl, the presence of illicit Acetal Fentanyl, and the debate surrounding low levels of Quetiapine (Seroquel) and ethanol. The testimony covers the lethal dose of fentanyl and how the levels compare in this case.

Carmen Lauber, who procured drugs for Kouri Richins, testified about multiple purchases, including fentanyl pills. The testimony details how Kouri allegedly asked for "Michael Jackson drugs" and the communication surrounding the acquisition.

In Day 2 of testimony in the Kouri Richins Trial, the jury heard from key witnesses, including the Medical Examiner, who laid out crucial forensic evidence regarding the death of Eric Richins. The Medical Examiner testified that Eric Richards' cause of death was drug intoxication by fentanyl (fentanyl poisoning/overdose). His system contained a toxic level of fentanyl and norfentanyl, despite no history of abuse. Due to the ongoing investigation at the time she concluded her report (prior to her retirement), the Medical Examiner ruled the manner of death as undetermined.

The ME's testimony concluded, setting the stage for a toxicologist to take the stand to elaborate on the concentration of drugs and the critical difference between stomach contents and blood levels—which will be vital for establishing a timeline of ingestion and death. Tomorrow, we expect the cross-examination of the CSI witness.

Karen Read's attorneys are fighting to obtain crucial data from former State Trooper Michael Proctor's personal cell phone after he allegedly "lost" it shortly after the District Attorney's office returned it to him. This lost phone is said to contain potentially damaging, biased, and "appalling conversations" with other law enforcement officers, including explicit, non-consensual images of women. The Commonwealth has the data, but Proctor is objecting to its release.

An attorney-client privileged email from Karen Read was accidentally sent to the opposing counsel via a "reply all." We cover the arguments on both sides: Read's team is moving to have the email destroyed, claiming inadvertent disclosure, while the O'Keefe's counsel argues the privilege was waived and they are entitled to use it for impeachment. The court has taken this motion under advisement.

Nancy Guthrie, mother of TV host Savannah Guthrie, was taken from her home in the early morning hours of February 1, 2026. Despite a wide-ranging investigation with hundreds of officers and tens of thousands of tips, she has still not been found. There have been major turns in the investigation with video and photos recovered and released to the public on February 11, 2026. Since then, law enforcement has detained and questioned numerous individuals and recently seized and searched another vehicle. The searches have taken place under search warrants, and late on Sunday, news broke that a DNA profile was taken from a glove found 2 miles from Nancy Guthrie's home. It’s reported that the glove matches the type of glove seen in previously shared photos and video. This is an active and developing investigation.

Team Canada is in the middle of an Olympic-sized scandal shaking the sport of curling. They aren’t going to be able to sweep off the accusations quickly as the video that appears to show the double-touch cheating is getting memed across the internet. Plus, Team Canada is now alleging that Sweden is improperly recording other teams… this likely isn’t done.
