For a long time, I cared way too much about what other people thought of me.
I wanted the nice clothes, the expensive shoes, the recognition, and the approval. Looking back, a lot of my decisions, including those that eventually led me to prison, came from trying to prove something to other people.
Even after rebuilding my life and finding God, I've realized that some of the hardest things to escape aren't the circumstances around us, but the beliefs we've carried about ourselves since childhood.
That's why this conversation with Peter was so personal.
Peter Crone, known as The Mind Architect, is a renowned thought leader and transformation coach who has worked with elite athletes, entertainers, and business leaders to help them overcome the subconscious beliefs holding them back.
During our conversation, Peter helped me see how my struggles with food, self-image, material possessions, and the need for approval might all be connected to the same underlying feeling: that who I am isn't good enough.
And it left me thinking about something I believe many of us struggle with:
How much of our lives do we spend trying to prove we're good enough, without ever questioning why we believed we weren't in the first place?
In This Episode, We Talk About:
■ How childhood experiences shape our beliefs and behavior
■ Why perfectionism is often rooted in feeling inadequate
■ My struggles with an eating disorder, self-image, and external validation
■ Why our identity can become our greatest addiction
■ How Peter helps elite athletes overcome fear and performance pressure
■ Why accepting failure can actually lead to greater success
■ The connection between anxiety, self-worth, and self-sabotage
■ Why money, status, and other people's approval never feel like enough
■ How insecurities affect our relationships
■ Taking responsibility instead of living with a victim mentality
■ Accepting your past and breaking free from limiting beliefs
■ Men's mental health and the importance of vulnerability
