Happy Friday! We are back with another episode of The DFO Rundown! There was some big news this week as Frank is joining Daily Faceoff full time! The podcast started with Frank and Jason talking about the big news before getting into the hockey talk. Fresh off the Habs game six victory, they touched on who's the better matchup for the Canadiens in the Cup Final. They were also joined by Carolina Hurricanes defenseman Jaccob Slavin, who recently won the Lady Byng Award!

With Jaccob, they talked about how much winning the Lady Byng award means, looked back at the season he had with the Canes, the impact of Head Coach Rod Brind'Amour, and the popular storm surge celebrations! Also on the pod, they brought in producer Tyler Yaremchuk for a new round of Buy/Sell where they touched on the Conn Smythe award, some pending free agents (Nuge, Hall, Landeskog), Rick Tocchet, and some trade targets in Arizona!

The storylines coming out of the Stanley Cup Playoffs are neverending. From officiating to goaltending to COVID protocols, the last few days have given us plenty to talk about. Jason and Frank talked about all of that today on The DFO Rundown. On top of that, to really break down the goaltending position, they welcomed Kevin Woodley from In Goal Magazine to the Wood Jerseys Studio.

With Woodley, they talked about the Golden Knight's decision to go with Robin Lehner for game four against Montreal and if Marc-Andre Fleury will bounce back before the playoffs are over. They also dug into the way that NHL teams are changing how they handle young goaltenders before touching on the upcoming expansion draft and talked about who the Kraken could look to take.

They kicked off the podcast by talking about the number of coaching changes going on around the league and Frank gave us the latest on who could be heading where. It was fitting that after that, they welcomed Columbus Blue Jackets Head Coach Brad Larsen to the Wood Jerseys Studio! Larsen talked about finally getting a chance to be an NHL bench boss after years of working the AHL and with the Blue Jackets as an Assistant Coach. They wrapped up the interview with Brad with some Rapid Fire Questions and then to end the episode, Tyler Yaremchuk grilled Frank and Jason in a new edition of 'Buy/Sell'.

The final four is underway in the Stanley Cup Playoffs and there are plenty of storylines in both of the series. Frank Seravalli and Jason Gregor talked about game one between the Lightning and Islanders before welcoming in former Golden Knight Deryk Engelland to help preview the Vegas/Montreal series!

Before Deryk joined the pod, Jason and Frank took a look at some of the big-name free agents that will be hitting the market this summer. They also touched on a few trade targets before welcoming in the former NHL defenseman! With Engelland, they talked about his unique journey to the NHL and how he managed to carve out an impressive NHL career. They also talked about what he's doing now and how he's staying involved in hockey!

Ep. 35: The Habs dominance, the NHL Draft, and more with Craig Button! Jun 07, 2021

A new episode of The DFO Rundown is here! With Jason Gregor out of the lineup for today's pod, Frank Seravalli brought in Craig Button to fill in! The duo kicked things off by talking about the Montreal Canadiens surprising dominance of the Winnipeg Jets and how Head Coach Dominic Ducharme has had an impact. From there, they went on to talk about the Vegas Golden Knights coming back to even things up with the Avalanche before getting into the other two series from a thrilling second round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs!

Button gave some great insight into how the remaining teams in the playoffs are being coached and who needs to make the most adjustments to take their team to the next level. Of course, the next round is going to feature two matchups between teams that haven't played each other yet this season. Craig ranked the four divisions and talked about who could be favourites in round three. They transitioned from there and talked a little bit about the NHL Draft. Owen Power is coming off a fantastic performance at the World Hockey Championships. Was that enough for him to be locked in as the #1 overall pick? Craig shared his take and gave us his player comparables for the young defenseman. They also talked about what the Draft looks like after that.

The NHL is churning out news and big stories seemingly non-stop right now so for today's episode of The DFO Rundown, we brought in some extra insider help! Sportsnet's Chris Johnston joined Jason Gregor and Frank Seravalli to talk about the summer ahead for the Maple Leafs and what kind of changes could be coming. They also touched on the Mark Scheifele suspension and played a little Buy/Sell with some big names on the trade market!

Things are bad in Toronto and while the people in charge made it sound like some big changes might not happen, Chris thinks there's a chance that things could get wild. Who are those names? You'll have to listen in to find out. During Buy/Sell they touched on Cale Makar, the Leafs, the Oilers, Flames, Sabres, and Seth Joens! They wrapped up with a little bit more talk about the Blue Jackets and a fresh round of Rapid Fire!

They were also joined by former NHLer and current analyst Brian Boucher who talked about the magic of Nathan MacKinnon and other big stories from around the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

Is this more of a choke job by the Maple Leafs or is this just the result of the Habs finding another level? How many games will Ryan Reaves get? Can the Canes overcome their game one loss against Tampa? Frank and Jason answered all of those questions before bringing in Boucher for some more analysis.

The Winnipeg Jets are in the drivers seat in their series against the Oilers, the Nashville Predators have climbed right back into their series against Carolina, and two of the last three Stanley Cup Champions have already been eliminated. Jason Gregor and Frank Seravalli recapped it all today on a brand new episode of The DFO Rundown.

The episode also featured an appearance from NHL Agent Allan Walsh, which starts just before the 18-minute mark. Walsh talked about his career and how he went from working murder trials in Los Angeles to being one of the top agents in the NHL. We also talked about a few of his clients and put him through a round of Rapid Fire!
