With the trade deadline in the rear-view mirror, we decided to turn our attention to the draft this week on The DFO Rundown! In a normal season, this is right around the time when the league's draft lottery would be happening and with a lot of teams already out of the playoff race, now seemed like a perfect time to take a peek at the next wave of NHL stars. To do that, who better to bring into the podcast than Chris Peters of HockeySense!

Chris is now in his second decade of scouting NHL prospects but of course, with the pandemic, this season has been unlike any other. Chris talked to us about how much difficult it is to scout a player solely off video and also, lessons he's learned through his 10 plus years of watching prospects. From there, we got into some of the big names in this year's draft class like Owen Power, the two elite goalies in this year's class, and a name that already has scouts split. We also touched on Cole Caufield, who was recalled by the Montreal Canadiens today.

With today being the NHL Trade Deadline, we decided to wait until Monday night to drop episode 19 of the podcast! Even though today wasn't the craziest deadline in recent memory, there were still plenty of interesting stories for Frank and Gregor to get to. They started things off by going through some of the big moves we did see before digging into some trades that didn't happen, but were close.

The big stunner today came after the deadline when the Capitals and Red Wings made a big swap while some of the more significant moves were made over the weekend or late last night. In terms of some moves that didn't happen, there's reason to believe that this summer will be a crazy one around the NHL. We are now just days away from the NHL Trade Deadline which means Frank Seravalli and Jason Gregor had no shortage of things to talk about today on The DFO Rundown! The guys kicked things off by talking about the Florida Panthers, who could be in on two of the biggest names on the trade market, before going around the league and touching on almost every team that could be active ahead of the trade deadline. Of course, today's episode also features a fresh edition of 'Buy/Sell'!

There is a three-horse race at the top of the Central Division and all three of the Hurricanes, Panthers, and Lightning could make moves before Monday's deadline. The Avalanche have a couple of areas that they will be looking to upgrade. Mike Hoffman could be on the move. The Blackhawks could be a fascinating team to watch according to Frank, who also thinks that the Jets are in a must-buy situation. There is a lot going on around the NHL and in today's 45-minute episode, Frank and Jason tell you everything you need to know!

We are just over one week away from the NHL Trade Deadline so we figured why not load up for episode 17 of the podcast and bring in both Pierre LeBrun and Darren Dreger to get us set for what could be a very busy week.

Before getting into the trade talk, they went through the latest on the Vancouver Canucks and their scary COVID-19 outbreak. The situation in Vancouver isn't just affecting their schedule right now but it will affect the league's playoff schedule as well. From there, they headed west and talked about the Flames, Oilers and Jets before touching on the Leafs, Sens, and Habs. We ended today's podcast with a special Monday edition of Buy/Sell that touched on four American teams that could be very busy in the next eight days.

It's the end of another week and that means a brand new episode of The DFO Rundown with Frank Seravalli and Jason Gregor! Like we've been doing every Friday on the pod, we spent the entire show going around the NHL and going in-depth on the trade market and the ever-changing playoff picture!

To start things off, they talked about the lack of action on the trade market so far and which teams could be the first to make a big splash. From there, they dug into the Taylor Hall 'sweep stakes' and where the former Hart Trophy winner might end up. Could a pair of Canadian teams be a fit? Or will a contender in one of the other three divisions step up and pay the price? They also hit on the Washington Capitals, Nashville Predators, LA Kings, Florida Panthers, and Toronto Maple Leafs at different points in this week's episode. For now, there is a lot of talk but significant moves could be just around the corner.

Today on the DFO Rundown Podcast we were joined by coaching legend Ken Hitchcock! The always lively Hitchcock joined Frank and Jason to talk about what he's been up to this year, how he'd handle coaching in a pandemic season, and of course, his golf game. Before chatting with Hitch, they got into the Aaron Ekblad injury and also the intriguing playoff race in the Central Division!

Also with Ken, they talked about his unique path to becoming an NHL Head Coach. He also reflected on his stint behind the bench with the Edmonton Oilers, how coaches have had to change their mindsets in recent years, and specifically, the Oiler's two superstar forwards. Of course, just because he's a future Hall of Famer doesn't mean he gets to skip out on our 'Rapid Fire' segment.

Get your Friday off to a good start with a brand new episode of The DFO Rundown with Frank Seravalli and Jason Gregor! They kicked off the podcast with a quick story on Franks new way to bond with this son (hint: it involves chicken wings & arcades). From there, they jumped into the rumour talk!

They started in the Eastern Conference where the New York Rangers are starting to make some noise with their recent play. While the Rangers rack up the wins, the Flyers continue to struggle. What will they do at the deadline? Frank gave his take and gave some insight into which teams could be holding up the NHL's trade market. From there, they welcomed in Nation Network CEO Jay Downton who talked about an exciting piece of news on the business side of things and what fans could be expecting from the company in the coming months (another hint: more hockey coverage). After their chat with Jay, they took a trip north of the border and talked about the latest surrounding the seven Canadian teams as we inch closer to the deadline. Frank describes him as the most interesting man in hockey and after listening to our chat, you'll know why. Don talked about his path to becoming an NHL GM, which included running his own business. Waddell is no stranger to making big trades and Gregor asked him about what goes into making a blockbuster deal. He also talked about the Hurricane's plans as they head closer to the trade deadline and what he could be looking to add before April 12th.

Before the chat with Don, which starts around the 12-minute mark of today's episode, the guys talked about the most recent COVID-19 complication in the NHL, the goaltending problems in Toronto, and some big decisions that are looming for the Vancouver Canucks this offseason.

Kick your week off with a new episode of The DFO Rundown with Jason Gregor and Frank Seravalli! Today on the pod, Frank started things off by ranting about the NHL's current schedule and how he's sick of seeing the same teams over and over again. Should the NHL find a way to keep more rivalry games in the schedule going forward? Or do they need to get back to the old format ASAP? They also touched on the Nikita Kucherov situation before getting to their guest this week, former NHLer Kris Versteeg.

Versteeg brought the heat today on the pod. He started by talking about the comments that he made on Saturday night about Connor McDavid and the NHL's inability to protect its stars. He also talked about what the league needs to do to grow the game more. Versteeg, or 'Ver-Beauty' as he's also known, also talked about his career, his time as a defenseman, playing with Patrick Kane and more! We ended our chat with Versteeg by hitting him with some hard questions in a fresh round of 'Rapid Fire'.
