Arise: A Meditation on Renewal and New Life - Rest and Renewal: A Retreat for the Soul Jun 01, 2026
    Show notes

This week, we continue our journey through Rest and Renewal: A Retreat for the Soul with a meditation inspired by Isaiah 60:1 and Isaiah 61:3.

"Arise, shine, for your light has come…" "You will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord…"

In this gentle meditation, we are invited to breathe deeply, rest quietly in God's presence, and receive the renewing light of God's love. Together we reflect on the places within us that may feel hidden, weary, or waiting—and open ourselves to the possibility of new life gently emerging, like spring after winter.

As you listen, allow yourself to release what feels heavy or finished in this season, and receive the invitation to trust that God is still at work, even in unseen places.

    This meditation includes:

Guided breathing and stillness Reflection on renewal and spiritual awakening Journaling prompts for deeper contemplation Closing prayer Scriptures

    Isaiah 60:1 Isaiah 61:3

Resting - Isaiah 43:19 - Rest and Renewal: A Retreat for the Soul May 29, 2026
    Show notes

Today we arrive at the final movement for the week: Resting.

There is nothing more to strive for here. No pressure to figure everything out. Simply rest in the presence of God. Resting is the gentle invitation to abide—to be still long enough to remember that God is already at work within you.

As Isaiah 43:19 reminds us, new life is already springing up, even if we cannot fully see it yet. So today, breathe deeply. Let go of hurry. Receive the quiet love of God surrounding you. And may this sacred stillness renew your soul.

Responding - Isaiah 43:19 - Rest and Renewal: A Retreat for the Soul May 28, 2026
    Show notes

In today's meditation we enter the movement of Responding.

After listening and reflecting, we now consider how our hearts are being invited to respond to God's presence. Perhaps your response is trust. Perhaps it is surrender, gratitude, hope, or simply a willingness to remain open.

Lectio Divina reminds us that God's Word is not only meant to be heard, but received deeply within us. As you sit quietly today, notice what invitation God may be placing before you. What would it look like to make space for this "new thing" God is bringing forth in your life? Allow your response to arise naturally, honestly, and prayerfully.

Reflecting - Isaiah 43:19 - Rest and Renewal: A Retreat for the Soul May 27, 2026
    Show notes

Today we continue meditating on Isaiah 43:19 through the movement of Reflecting.

As you sit with this notice what begins to rise within you. What memories, emotions, longings, or questions surface as you hear God say, "I'm about to do something brand new"? Reflection invites us to gently ponder where God may already be at work beneath the surface of our lives. Rather than rushing for answers, we simply remain present, allowing God's Spirit to illuminate what we may have overlooked.

In quiet reflection, we begin to see that even in dry places, God is still making rivers in the wilderness.

Noticing - Isaiah 43:19 - Rest and Renewal: A Retreat for the Soul May 26, 2026
    Show notes

Today we continue meditating on Isaiah 43:19 with the movement of Noticing.

"Be alert, be present. I'm about to do something brand new. It's bursting out! Don't you see it? I'm making a road through the desert and rivers in the wastelands. Now it springs up!" — Isaiah 43:19 (MSG)

As you listen today, simply notice what word or phrase draws your attention. Notice what stirs within you. Notice where you may be longing for renewal, hope, or new life. God is always moving gently toward us. May this time help you become more awake to His presence and the quiet ways He is making all things new.

Renewal - Rest and Renewal: A Retreat for the Soul May 25, 2026
    Show notes

In this opening episode of a brand new season, we begin a gentle journey into rest, renewal, and the quiet transforming presence of God. Through reflective meditation, breath prayer, and Scripture, we are invited to slow down and notice the new thing God is already bringing forth within us.

Inspired by Isaiah 43:19, this meditation offers space to release striving, receive God's faithful love, and awaken again to hope.

"Be alert, be present. I'm about to do something brand new. It's bursting out! Don't you see it?" — Isaiah 43:19 (MSG)

Just as spring unfolds around us, we remember: what feels dormant is not lost, what feels weary can be renewed, and God is always making a way in the wilderness.

A guided meditation on renewal and awakening Reflection on Isaiah 43:19 Breath prayer for rest and renewal Space to notice where your soul longs for new life Encouragement to embrace stillness as sacred invitation
